Woodlawn School Ratings & Reviews

Woodlawn is unique, and the experiences I had there prepared me for college (and for the workforce) in ways I couldn't appreciate when I was first experiencing them. The integrated curriculum forced me to consider problems from multiple angles, and the required service work gave me insight into areas of humanity with which I may have otherwise never interacted. I was blessed to attend this school, and while I don't believe it'll be the right fit for everyone, I believe those students who want to learn and who are eager to engage with the subject matter will benefit greatly from their time at this school.

Woodlawn school is an amazing place, I feel so lucky to have spent 4 years there! From international travel, varsity sports, interactive learning, and amazing teachers, I would go there all over again if I could! I will forever be grateful for how well Woodlawn prepared me for college and the life long friends I made while I was there!

I highly recommend Woodlawn for families looking for a strong sense of community, challenging and engaging academics, and close teacher-student relationships. I graduated from Woodlawn after being a student there for seven years. During that time Woodlawn became more than just a school—it became my family. Woodlawn is unique because we embrace our small size. The small school setting allowed my teachers to focus on my peers and me as unique individuals. They were able to dedicate time and energy to each and every one of us so that we could explore and dig deeper into our academic and extracurricular passions.

If you want you kids bullied by peers AND administrators then you have found your place. Also if you have a "problem" child they will be welcomed here and certain faculty will try to help "reform" them as it will give the faculty purpose and job security. You will be funding the administrators children's education while your child get the short end of the stick. At least the campus is beautiful.

Being such a small school, academic options are extremely limited. First year Spanish students (the only language offered) are thrown in with their classmates, who are at a more advanced level. Some teachers are wonderful, but some obviously don't care. It is easy to make friends, though.
