Northeast Guilford High School Ratings & Reviews

I can't really comment on ratings older than 5 years, but today this school is a nurturing and academically enriching environment for the students. Thanks in large part to Principal Williams, who is a strong positive role model and force for inclusion and excellence. Awesome job...keep up the good work!

As a former student at Northeast, I can say with great emphasis that the atmosphere in the school is unsatisfactory at best. There are literally fights all the time and any time the students express their concerns to the administration about the conditions in the school they ignore them and continue down the path to failure. I highly recommend not attending this school if you have a choice. They are more focused on improving test scores with unconventional ways like enforcing a failing dress code (SMOD) policy instead of actually producing quality teachers that are capable of actually teaching the students something. If there was an option for zero stars to rank this school, I would have chosen it.

As a student currently seeking a post-secondary degree, I have to look back on my time at Northeast and note that there were few teachers that I really feel prepared me well for college. Unfortunatly for the students who have not yet completed their time at Northeast it is sad to say that the vast majority of the 'good' teachers who were not tied to the school through sports have left. It is truly disturbing to see what direction the school is headed towards. I belIeve that the current principle and a few remaining members of the faculty are competant, and capable of turning the school around. However, this will take time and effort.

This school needs a student does not feel safe...racial tensions quite high. It has a depressing atmosphere when you first walk in.... the dust, stains, beat-up doors on front office and counseling...wood doors...they look like utility closets at first glance. I think too many are sweeping the condition under the rug. Students are to learn respect somewhere, why not at school?
