The school will be starting a year-round schedule. They took one month from summer vacation and placed it as two-week segments within the regular school calendar. However, students are not required to come on these extra days. This is a low-income communiy. Education is bad, but historically, it has been bad...especially as administrators have been changing grades for years... I think the administration needs to listen to their teachers and ask them how to reach the students who are behind academically. Everyone does not have internet... or transportation to afterschool and during school events... They need to focus on building up and sharing community resources. The year-round schedule interferes with free summer camp opportunities, free food programs and student employment and academic opportunities. This was a bad decision forced on parents... they did not consider the needs of the community...and are still not offering many resources. The school reflects administration...

I just moved to LSHS from other state and I am very pleased how the students behave inside and outside of the classroom. Students here are more respectful, hard working, and motivated to do the work. The administrators are awesome and very supportive.

No understanding of how the school has functioning individuals. The person below deserves a shot at mayor. At least s/he comprehends the LACK thereof support.

There is a split between BOE, admins, faculty. Students run the entire school. No set policies.

This school is an improving curriculum, some very dedicated teachers, and some who are not as dedicated. The new school administration is changing things for the good and making this a better more rigorous school.
