High School is better than public school however very disappointed in administration. Leadership should include integrity, honesty, and accountability

I LOVE the NCLA!!!! I have been with the school since the first year it opened. As with any Start-up, there have been some challenges but every year this school gets better and better. My kids are being challenged and are growing tremendously in their learning. I am glad to be a part of this school family.

The school has pushed me as a parent and pushed my child. They will not push your child through. If you don't have the mastery of the curriculum you will have to repeat it. It has been stressful at times but so are many things in life. I do believe the teachers genuinely care about the students. My child is making growth and improving all the time, although it has not been easy. I frequently have to help with homework and help my child manage their coursework. The teachers make it possible to help my student with their communication about grades and assignments. Before finding this school i was so worried about what friends and circumstances my child would be exposed to in the local public high school. I can honestly say I love my child's friends at this school and most of the kids seem to get along even if they aren't friends.I would say the biggest negative to this school is their is no formal lunch program or cafeteria. My student does not like sandwiches and does not bring a lunch. They have a catered lunch 1 day a week but the other 4 days my child goes without lunch.

The current principle is horrible. She has facilitated a clique of parents where the rules do not apply to them; while other parents are left out or their input is ignored, especially in regards to their own child. It is their way or the highway, mentality.Students getting bullied by teachers. Nearly 50% of the staff is released each year, so the massive turn over is demoralizing. Rules do not apply evenly. Each year the school seems to get a little worse off while good people are pushed out and the in people are moved in hurting the school in the process. While there are good things about the school, the bad things are now out-weighting them. Even teachers with children that go to the school are moving their kids else where.
