This school is absolutely wonderful in so many ways. They just get it right! The teachers we have had are so caring, patient, kind and dedicated. It feels like they truly care about your kids, their feelings and getting to know them personally to best teach and care for them. I have seen so much positive growth in my child in various ways since starting here. First- the life skills (eating and cleaning up afterwards, taking care of class pets, class plants, working in groups and independently, etc.) and completing work cycles (great for independence and self confidence). They help foster a love of learning and do it in such a fun way using Montessori techniques. I love the language/wording they consistently use. The classroom has a variety of work for different interests and levels of learning in an organized manner. I love the mixed age classrooms, the diversity, the calm environment and so much more. It is nice to see the older students take the younger students under their wing (beneficial to both of them in different ways). This school is community oriented and hosts many events to bring the students and their families together. The pricing is also less expensive than other Montessori schools I have seen. They have the co-op hours (only 20 hours per year) and family of the week (only like 2x per year). I love supporting the classroom and feel like it is well worth it. I just wish they went up to 5th grade.

I love the atmosphere at this school. My children are loved and well taken care of. The teachers really get to know my children, personally and educational wise. The outside space is wonderful and large. For all the wonderful things about the school, I really struggle with a couple negatives. 1. Family of the week-You are required to do the classroom laundry for the week and provide snacks for the whole class. I typically spend $200.2. Co-op-You must complete 20 volunteer hours or pay the difference at the end of the year. They say this makes tuition cheaper, but it does not. We pay the same as other schools and get less. I don't mind volunteering, but I hate to be forced too.3. Parent involvement-I feel like every time I turn around the class needs items purchased or someone to volunteer. My kids have enjoyed their time at the school and I'm glad they had the experience. I only hope in the future the school could become a better value and stop asking the parents for so much. If it's a co-op make the price match.

The school really focuses on the children and their needs. Outside play is a big focus including play, gardening and nature walks. Wholesome Tummies provides an excellent hot lunch program. The school is calm, clean and nurturing. The staff really care and love for the kids. My child comes home everyday in a great mood, goes on and on about her teachers and thoroughly loves the school. Grace, courtesy, responsibility, independence and confidence are a key focus and it shows. I could not ask for a better environment for my children to be in.

I chose this school because it is so calm and peaceful and felt much more like home. The environment is calming - I have never heard yelling - and they go outside on their large property a lot. The toddler room has stairs to practice on and tons of toys to experiment with. When I ask if he wants to go to school, he runs to the door. My three year old also loves to come. After school, they change rooms, so she has different materials (toys) to work with and gets to see her friends from the other classrooms. They are actively engaged all day. The teachers are not just hourly caregivers but true teachers that go above and beyond. Probably the only down side to the school is the number of days off. Even with the year round program, they are not able to go during teacher work days and breaks, so I have to arrange for back up care. But, they need that time to make the school function the way that it does - as a school!

Christian Montessori School at Lake Norman was a wonderful experience for my daughter. While at the school, she developed a passion for learning, independence, and a sense of self. In addition to her academic flouishing, she grew closer in her relationship with the Lord and know sees the big picture and where she fits into that. CMSLN is active in the community and performs several community service projects throughout the year. Every class has a Montessori certified lead teacher and knowledgable staff. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at the school and would recommend it to family and friends.
