This school is not for you if you are expecting diversity, advanced learning, and encouraging and honest staff. This school will break confidence in a child that has a ethnic background that is not white.

This school is very unnecessary In their action making for example They are making me serve detention for getting to school late ONLY three times (unexcused) keep in mind this is MIDDLE SCHOOL and the they are making kids serve in detention IN MIDDLE SCHOOL this school is unbelievable and this school has so much drama that they suspended a girl that was being bullied instead of suspending the bully. Every child I have talked to say that they HATE this school(notice I put hate in caps for a reason )this school is great for elementary just not for middle school and high school I believe they should just stay in teaching elementary school. And there are only two teachers I do recommend in middle school they ar the two males.

Vandalia is an absolutely wonderful place for children to grow and learn! They have numerous extra curricular activities for students. Teachers and administrators are very caring and responsive to parents and children. Our oldest child has a learning disability and he has had a great experience at Vandalia. Teachers were very supportive and understanding while still pushing him to excel. I was worried that he wouldn't fit in because he didn't start until ninth grade, no worries there. The school culture is very excepting and welcoming. We love this place and all three of our children attend. Best thing about the school - they make decisions based on the Word of God and reinforce biblical values that we already teach at home.

I was very disappointed with this school. They have no diversity in their teaching staff or administration, and some of their teachers are too old to continue teaching, and as such, do not have the patience necessary to deal with small children. This led to unnecessary calls to parents about small infractions that should be handled by a caring, patient, creative teacher. The administrators were not willing to work with parents in resolving ongoing issues, nor were they realistic in their expectations.

My children first began attending Vandalia Christian School in 2001. Two have graduated, and youngest is now in 7th grade, having been at VCS since she was a three-year-old in the K3 program there. My older children had no problems being accepted at the university of their choice, and because of the college-prep work that VCS provides, they were well-equipped for collegiate-level study. One negative review on this site commented that the school is "expensive". This is one of the most economical private schools in the Triad; the school board works hard to keep tuition as low as possible, so that as many families as possible will be able to enroll their children there. The school administrators run the school efficiently. It *is* a private school, not subsidized by state funding, so the tuition and fees are what keeps the school running. The fundraisers are optional, but parents are encouraged to participate if they can. I have no problem with that. My plan is to keep my daughter at Vandalia Christian until she graduates from high school. I will be proud to say that I am the parent of three VCS graduates!
