"I don't know where to start. I have been begging for my child to get an IEP for two years and they are not working with me at all. My 5th grader can barely multiply. When I asked to hold him back I was told ""no"". My children tell me of the bullying going on. When I asked I was ignored. The other thing I don't understand is this PBIS. If it was explained to me correctly if my child is good and don't get any wright ups for the month they get to go to this PBIS party. Which is an in school fundraiser, where they can purchase candy and this money goes for toy's.(Am I the only one who thinks it's crazy that my child earned a ""reward"" but has to pay for it?) Rankin has a shortage of paper towels, soap, and send kids home with letters to donate school supplies but have money to pay a ""teacher"" to do fundraising. Clearly this ""teachers"" pay check could go for better uses. I hear they are getting title one funds cut because they are not using money correctly. I hope this is not true."

I was recently informed that is some bulling going on in this scholl. What is being done or do I as parent have to press charges to ensure the safety of my child and other children?

Beginning the 5th grade at Rankin Elementary as a new student , my son was welcomed as family. The staff is supported by a principal and vice principal with the utmost respect for their staff , children and parents. My son with learning disabilities has been nurtured along with teaching him how to utilize the tools taught to overcome his disability. . Beginning this 5th grade year he lacked the self confidence to read aloud . Hold on to your notebooks parents! He ran for a student body position and read aloud to the school! Wow, im so proud of him. He will graduate 5th grade with Honors. Thank you to All who have embraced my son this year. His academic success for his future has been propelled by Rankins staff which will be everlasting.

Good school, keeps parents updated on current events, and progress of students, take time with individual students who are having trouble, such as special needs students
