My kids have been at IPE since kindergarten. We have experienced great teachers and parents. Both of my children are doing very well!

We started at one of Greensboro's top magnet programs, but our child was not happy and had intense anxiety about going to school. After 2 years, we switched to IPE. Now, we have 2 children enrolled, and it has been better than we even expected it would be. So glad we switched. Loving the neighborhood aspect as well. The parent/community involvement is amazing.

My daughter is finishing up her first year in Kindergarten at Irving Park Elementary and we are thrilled with the level of education she is receiving. She was well prepared for school but wasn't able to read any sight words before she started at Irving Park. By Christmas she was reading books nightly and by spring her teacher told us our daughter was reading above grade level. Even now, with one week of school left, they are still learning new concepts in math and working hard. The curriculum is strong and the teachers continue to amaze with the outstanding education they give all the students. Parent involvement is extremely active and supportive, and Principal McKee is a great leader. Irving Park Elementary has what it takes; incredibly hardworking teachers, a goal-oriented Principal, and involved parents. We received a spot at our top magnet school choice last spring, but something told me to give Irving Park a chance and I am so glad we did. We love the school, and more importantly so does our daughter.

We started our daughter at a charter school and were very disenchanted with the program. When she was identified as academically gifted, the charter schools way of "enriching" her experience was simply through more work in the form of worksheets. The last year she was at the charter school, she brought home 425 pages of worksheets. Needless to say, this was a huge reason for us seeking out other educational opportunities for her. Prior to enrolling her at Irving Park, we looked into private schools however, after we toured Irving Park, there was no doubt in our minds that the academic, social, and real world experience she would gain at IPE was exactly what we were looking for. Our daughter has recently been invited to participate in an academic leadership program over the summer and our son has become the second Irving Park Pirate in the family.

We currently have 3 children attending Irving Park Elmentary and could not be more pleased. We have seen amazing growth in each of them. They have had excellent teachers and great opportunities for enrichment. The principal is outstanding. Although we looked at many schools in the county private and magnate, we chose Irving Pakr because of the excellent instruction and family atmosphere.
