On a scale of 1 to 10 this school is an 11. I could not be happier.

We have been at CIS since 2012 at the old Harrisburg campus. We LOVED it there. The school was small. The staff was all friendly and close knit. Even the overall population of the school was great, small town, kids. It was always the dream to build a bigger school on the land they purchased, but the distance from the original school was just the beginning of the problems. When the school moved from Harrisburg to Concord, CIS lost a lot of teachers. Really good teachers! With the move, you're bound to lose some staff that lives in the opposite direction of Concord... so they hired new teachers. Since the original move and loss of teachers in 2014, they have lost almost half of their teaching staff with each new school year. I believe I am accurate in saying almost the entire 4th grade teacher staff quit this past Christmas 2017 break to go to public schools. Teachers are starting in one grade and being sent to another mid year. All state test scores are below state levels and decline every year. This just isn't a good school anymore, which sucks because I recommended it to everyone I knew back then. My child is falling behind and it took 5 phone calls, 10 emails and finally copying the entire administrative staff to get a parent teacher conference and find out what was going on with my child... then when I get there, the ELA teacher was at the gas station and I sat there waiting for half an hour! No professionalism. No sense of urgency to help struggling students, and there is no tutoring program. I also know there was a knife brought to school by an upper classman and instead of reporting it to the police (which would cause a negative media circus for the already floundering school), the incident was swept under the rug and the kid got a 10 day suspension. It's insane the things Charter Schools can get away with because they don't have the same rules as a county school. Regardless, the education at this school isn't good anymore. Their sports teams aren't good. Their music program isn't good. And every other email is them asking you to donate to their school fund to add more to the building.. but I donated a lot to that "gym" that is still being used as classrooms.I would not send my kids here again knowing what I know now. Please base your own opinion, but if your choice is CIS or another charter school in the area, pick the other one!

The review that says it is horrendous was an auto correct and i want to say horrible instead. The ela teacher is ok but has her moments. The rest of the team is ok but need work. No middle school is perfect i didn't mean to put that rude review. I meant to delete it. Administration needs work and we need teachers that want to teach.

Below Zero. Awful communication between staff administration and parent. Bullying tactics to students by staff when parents complain. Worse decision

I have attended CIS since Kindergarten at the old campus. It was fun at the old campus. There weren't any problems, everyone knew each other, and we were a big family. At that time we didn't have many sports or extra curricular activities. Ever since we moved to the new campus the school has became way too concerned with expanding then focusing on other things. We still don't have a gym or any other things we have been promised. Middle school is sorry. High school is even worse. There is nothing for us to do so everybody runs wild. No clubs, field trips or any of that. If I were you I would send my child here for grades K-4. I will be glad if i can go to a new school for 10th grade.
