Everyone says it's a great school. We pcsd from DC public school I highly disagree so far it's been a bad experence ... Maybe startimg from prek or kindergarten? So far my child's teachers communication is horrible, no homework, spelling homework? If they dont finish classwork on time and gets problems wrong. They are punished by recess taking away!! Hopefully, this school year will get better. I am regretting not sending her to private school. If your child gets Mrs. Kidd second grade run. Mine hates school and cries every morning to go to school. In dc she was thrilled and learned so much . They never really send home classwork so you don't know how your child's doing! If you ask on how they are no reply! So far public school has been better than base school .

JPS is a fantastic school. My children attended preK thru 2nd grade here and we loved it. My son used their special ed program due to his ASD, he was nonverbal and they worked with him in speech as well. I can't say enough good things about their program. They cared about my opinions in his IEP meetings. I even called for a meeting because of some concerns with a teacher and he was moved the next day. They respect the parents and students. We cried when we had to move on.

I have had three children attend this school. It is excellent. It is why we chose to cram into a small base house instead of buying out in town. My son is on the autism spectrum and is enrolled for the second year in the pre-K program. This school cares, the parents are involved, the teachers and admin are superb. They offer very good care to special needs students and they will the the standard by which I measure all other schools.

This school is AMAZING! The atmosphere is warm and safe. The kids are challenged to do their best. My child started kindergarten with an IEP, and now doesn't need it thanks to JPS. Parents are welcome to participate. The principal is warm and freindly to both students and parents. Teachers are responsive and really know and love each of their students. The military child has to deal with so much, but at JPS, they are aware of this and are such a support to each child. They have a club for kids whose parents are currently deployed to help them. Each quarter there is an amazing cirriculum night that I swear half the school shows up for it's so awesome. They have a freedom walk to honor 9/11, a fun carnival each fall, and celebrate the military child each spring. My only negative thing to say is that the preschool, though amazing is not very long. (2.5 hrs) I know there are talks of cutting finding to DODEA schools, which would be a crying shame, as this school is what every parent wants for their kid.

The teachers at JPS are spectacular - you will absolutely not find better teachers anywhere! The PTA is a joke!! I love that, as a parent, I am welcome to pop in at anytime and help out in the classroom. It's a shame more parents aren't more involved, or able to be. Once I witnessed a special needs child in a fit of some sort being escorted down the hall. He was really fighting the teachers, but they were handling him with such care you would have thought it was their own child. In the end, my kids LOVE their teachers and feel safe and loved here! The kids have tailored goals to meet their needs and are lovingly pushed daily to be the best they can be.
