IΓÇÖve been at Franklin since day one, and IΓÇÖve loved every minute of it

I was one of the founding 7th graders, and I was there for two years. Most of the teachers are okay. Some of them, however, are not trying to keep a good student-teacher relationship. The after school program is decent, but the rule that any electronic is not allowed after 4:00 is crazy. I got yelled at trying to call my mom asking her when she is coming to pick me up. Some of the after school staff are very likable, but there are a few that make it clear that they don't like some of the kids there. There were two in particular that gave privileges to their "favorite" students while yelling at others who question their motives and actions. I liked the fact that the classes were more hands-on, but our classes had to borrow chairs and tables from other rooms. The plan to add 5th grade is completely dumb due to the fact that a permanent building hasn't even been started yet. The costs for after school is outrageous. My mom had to pay a lot more than she should've. I had to go to after school every day due to my parents work hours, so the costs added up. The school is a good idea but hasn't been executed well. If you are considering taking your child there, I suggest waiting until they have everything finished.

The teachers here are the most engaged, effective, and committed I've ever seen. Our child enjoys school, is challenged academically, and her confidence has grown -- in middle school! Teachers inspire students to their full potential, the kids are doing critical thinking instead of busy work, and our daughter now sees herself as being "good at math" when she saw this as a weakness before. This is a hidden gem in Buncombe County, and we're so grateful we discovered this school.

Average might be a bit high. They promise it will be different than public schools. its not. There is little hands on teaching, no science equipment and about 1/2 the teachers are good and care about the students. The rest and the admin. care about keeping jobs not teaching students.
