Wow my grandson goes here and I never knew that this school is so far behind basically in everything in Springfield and Missouri. I hope to take him out next year. Teachers should really take concern about this as you teach these children and it does not look good on you. Do not blame it on the school!

I think it's awful that no one stands outside during morning drop off. I worry a younger child will have forgotten something and run back outside and get ran over or stolen. I've never seen a school that didn't have people outside monitoring morning drop off. One morning my kinder was outside alone for several minutes because no teacher was outside. In the mornings some parents walk up to the door. I worry daily my quiet little girl will be stolen at that time as their is no other warning. Kids have gone to three other schools and all others have someone outside during morning drop off...this needs to change. Also the principal needs to smile more.

My kid went there for a year. Bullying issue in this school is terrible and teacher will either take side if they knows the parent or if the parent also works in the school system. My came home with bruises and cut on her legs because a boy pushed her down. The teacher said no one witnessed the incident and the 6 years old didn't request for medical attention. Also there is a girl in the class bullied my kid and wouldn't allow my kid to play with any classmates. I talked to the teacher and she basically said my kid is a lair. Found out later, the mom of that girl is working for PTA. Also, the principle like to have the school cop scared kids when they are in trouble. We got a text from the teacher saying that my kid got in trouble for saying "I will poke you back." because a boy kept hitting her in the face. She got to go see the principal and they has the cop talking to my kid who was only in a kindergarten at the time. My kid has nightmares for week. I told them that this is illegal for them to talk to my kid like that. Then the principal changed the story that the cop happened to walk pasted her office and saw my kid, so he decided to talk to my kid. Well, I have talked to other parents and this kind of incident happened to other kids as well. One parent told me that her son was peeing on his pant when the principal had a cop talking to the kid. Someone needs to look in to this and stop this awful tactic of this principal. We moved our kid out of that school after my kid got physically hurt and bullied many times. And principal basically told me that I used the word Bulling wrong. Another kid was just being mean. Funny, my kid got in trouble for saying that I will poke you back. And she told me that it is bullying and the cop happened to walk pasted her office and talked to my kid and scared the kid to death. However, the student who physically hurt my kid was just being mean. I was like, bye!

Cowden admin., teachers, and staff are easy and fun to work with. They routinely provide differentiated learning opportunities for their students and emphasize independence and problem-solving skills. The staff is respectful and engaging with students. We appreciate our students and supportive families.
