It's awful. The students are given so much work that they resort to cheating and drugs in order to complete it.

Being the Navy Representative and Recruiter for Metro has been, both exciting and nerve wrecking. Many of the parents, staff, and most importantly students have been misinformed of the advantages of military service. We are working towards having a better relationship with the staff and students to close the gap on the policies regarding Military involvement. The students are interested, and we offer many programs to enhance their educational schools and preparation for the workforce. Let's do more and be better for our kids. The standard is high, but it's not the ceiling.

Metro is a great school because they assemble some of the best kids from the region and over time it has developed a wonderful culture of hard work and success. The student body is both racially and socioeconomically diverse; and they do not self segregate. There are a number of great and dedicated teachers but there are a few that would not last if they had to earn it like the kids do. For hard working kids, this is a great school. Note: when applying give your USCF (chess) rating.

An academics based school for self-motivated students with teachers who know how to challenge them. Administration is caring and accessible. No wonder this is the #1 high school in the state!
