Unfortunately our experience with this school was awful and our kids suffered psychologically from many of the bad experiences and lack of good leadership, especially at the top, who were not skilled in properly dealing with children. It is funny that a “school leader” has posted to try and “make things right” regarding a bad review. That is so fake and all for show. The true attitude and mentality is that you either conform to their ways by agreeing with things as they see it or you can leave because you need them more than they need you and there are many other people who are looking to fill your spot. Not very Christian like if you ask me. There are so many better alternatives when it comes to faith based schools in St. Louis! At a minimum, unless they find new people to run the place I would definitely look elsewhere!

Kirk Day School was a major let down! The Head of School is not a man of this word and has become overly pompous and egotistical in the false belief that the school has grown solely by his doing. Academics and discipline are both immensely inadequate! Textbooks are over 10 years old. No technologically advanced form of communication for keeping up with grades or assignments daily. Kids are also not introduced to simple modern programs such as Google Classroom nor do they have daily exposure to computers. Claim to be in the “top 10% of Christian Schools in the nation” but they do not reference who ranked them and I have never been able to find proof to back up this claim. Extreme bullying goes on here daily and it is not dealt with properly. There were several incidents where my children were in a dangerous environment / situation because of the school’s lack of control. Would not recommend going to KDS for transitioning to Westminster because these behavioral issues are well known and many 6th grade students from KDS have been denied at Westminster!

We have been blessed to be involved with this school. The academics are top notch while not being obsessed. They encourage excellence and extend grace. I feel at peace letting them educate my child throughout the day. The staff we have experienced have been lovely. The Head of School is firm, fair, and level headed. The school is in exceptional hands.

The new leadership at Kirk Day School is totally incompetent and has lots of internal issues. The Principal and Counselor believe they are experts and constantly preach on different topics about discipline and how you should raise your kids, yet they have no real experience personally by having school age children themselves and they make poor decisions when actually dealing with issues. Communication between the staff to parents is terrible. Major favoritism is given to those kids whose parent(s) are a board or church member, faculty, or a big donor. On the surface the staff acts like they are strict and on top of things but truthfully they have no control over the students and their consequences for bad behavior are ineffective. The bullying is rampant. The Gossiping is awful and not what you would expect from parents and teachers, especially at a Christian school. I have personally heard teachers gossip about other kids on several occasions. There are two to three very good teachers but the rest are either new and inexperienced or not up to date with improved ways of teaching. Even the good teachers can not teach to their full potential because they lack the resources that many other schools provide.

KDS is an outstanding accredited school that nurtures every student no matter the ability. The teachers work hard to help students with a challenging curriculum.
