Lack of leadership in this school. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Teachers who lack interest in the students. There is a strong focus in spots and music but lack of focus in academics... that makes a lot of sense. We will have a bunch of dancing singing ball throwers running the country. Why don't we focus on adding foreign language, taking the funds in those ridiculous musicals and put it towards advanced curriculum or alternative curriculum such as gross anatomy, engineering, something that will make our students smarter? We moved here from the best school system in the States (Blue Springs,) And we are very sad at what this school district has to offer. And where are the text books? My children have not had 1 since they started!!! Instead they get a journal to copy down false information. To my child's Science teacher... if you want to talk to my child about who invented the Polio vaccine... why don't you first educated the child on what a vaccine is, what polio is, and why you vaccinate. Not what a name is and what they did. STOP TEACHING TO TAKE A TEST!!! If this community had a private school there would be a waiting list.

I have gone to school here for a long time, I am not popular, my parents are not loaded, and I don't think this school is that bad. I think many parents overreact because their student isn't the best kid there is, and doesn't always get noticed. Yes, there is bullying, it's high school, Yes some of the teachers don't do what they're suppose to but MOST of them do. Most of them teach very well, regarding the middle school, I have seen the principle a lot, and she gets onto students for stupid stuff, so you can't say she doesn't do anything, and the counselor is a wonderful woman, and not biased ( I am not involved with sports of any kind) She tries to get the students engaged and gives them advice. If she jumped every time a kid was called, they would probably get it a lot worse, she can't go yell at them and tell them to stop because that's how situations get worse. I think the Pleasant Hill School district is also a lot better than a lot of the surrounding ones. Lee's Summit is on the news constantly for mishaps of any kind. And lots of bullying takes place there, so why don't you all get your facts straight about the school systems.

Principal needs very serious investigation completed on code of ethics! Very public marital problems.Move in with folks who cannot remain confidential! Need of a security officer or police officer at the middle school. Fighting is out of control halls. Counselor justifies all that touching is okay, and jumping on each other in the hall? all okay. Principal should have an assistant principal. Counselor should counsel and stay out of sports as she is biased to the team! when she finally attains all credentials counsel only on low level authority....should be monitored for her biased activity. Not a healthy place to teach. Math program lacks by two years. Children fall behind daily in the math programs. Have to catch up by two years when they go to the PHHS. Need a full blown investigation of the school. Brought to the superintendents attention. Will see what he does?

2011 Review With our middle school the principal is never present? She will set up meetings and misses them many times. The principal appears to want to push real problems under the rug, until they reach high school level. The principal spends all of her time in their office pushing papers/emails. Delegates discipline decisions and dealing with parents to the counselor, and other teachers. You never see her in classrooms, unless she arrives to yell at a teacher in front of the students, she should meet with teachers in private and dominate the halls. Teens jump one another punch and kick each other in the halls.they should be disciplined for this behavior. Our school principal is busy calling subs instead of handling major problems. Have one person a clerical person" call the subs and hit the halls! Understand the needs. Pleasant Hill appears to have major safety problems, discipline problems.principals as well as teachers need to be in the halls monitoring, buddy rooms are needed, safety plans stat.
