My child has been attending Trillium for 2 years (kdg. & first grade) and our experience has been a great one. The curriculum is perfect for my child. I like that the communication between teacher and parent is so solid. I have direct communication with the teacher through dojo and I can see how my child's behavior is every day throughout the day. They have an excellent latchkey program-which allows kids to do homework first and play afterwards. They keep the kids involved in all sorts of activities, like gardening, volley ball, drama etc. Excellent school.

It has been a great fit for my granddaughter. The teachers are kind, compassionate, and knowledgable. And the latchkey program is great, too!

I am very disappointed and unsatisfied with my child's experience at Trillium. I believed the hype and recommendations from others that this was a good school. I might have been a few years ago, but it definitely has declined since then. There is no organization, communication with the teachers, no books, and hardly any consistency. The specialty classes are a joke, for example in world language one week the students are learning french then the next week they are learning arabic. I am not a professional teacher but I know it takes more than a week to master a language. It was always a problem with the school's copy machines or printers when it came to getting my child's homework for the week. Much of nothing was taught in class before the homework was sent home and I never saw one textbook or even a book for my child to do weekly reading. The administration cares very little about parents concerns regarding their child's progress. Nothing is addressed or changed. The teachers spend more time posting things and mesages on the app that they make you download to your phone than they spend time teaching the children. It was way too many substitutes throughtout the school year and a huge turnover rate. Picking your child up from school is like trying to get through a circus. Overall waste of my child's time and mine. Deeply regret enrolling my child at Trillium

I have been EXTREMELY satisfied with my daughter's experience at Trillium. The elementary students get SIX specials classes every week... PE, art, music, drama, world languages, and technology. Also, starting in 3rd grade, they have the opportunity to join orchestra. Because the school is so small, my daughter still sees her previous teachers in the hall, and can even stop by to say "hi" after school if she wants. She has attended Trillium since Kindergarten, and I believe the family-like environment will give her more meaningful memories of her formative years.

I have never happened upon a school with such a high teacher turn over rate. I have heard, on more than one occasion and from more than one source, that over 100 staff members (mostly teachers) have left or been fired since the school's inception just over 10 yrs ago. Furthermore, what kind of school doesn't have a functioning library? Trillium does not, nor has it ever had, a library from which students can check out books. The parking lot is a nightmare and the administration is out of touch. The one thing Trillium does have going for it is that there are some wonderful, dedicated teachers there...not all of them, but a few. As for the performing arts aspect...They did away with Drama in K-6 and now require classroom teachers, without formal training, to teach drama. Spanish? It's gone. They replaced it with world languages, which offers more variety but no chance to master or accumulate any real understanding of any one language. As with any big choice, I urge you to really do your research before choosing a school. Visit on more than one occasion. Sit in the parking lot at dismissal. Speak to teachers and families current and past before deciding.
