Although a great school academically. There are children here that are bullied everyday. The principal and recess attendants seem to do nothing about it. They are so bent on avoiding a situation, it is turned into a bigger situation.

I witnessed numerous situations happening at this school, that when brought to the principals attention, were not addressed properly. My opinion is that they intimidate, harrasse and border on abuse. The staff seem to think that the bullies deserve compassion due to their 'problems'. The teachers are beyond excellent! The administation is letting us, our children, and them down ,severely! Right is right! Wrong is wrong! Don't let your voice go unheard. NK

I would like to say I am very sad to have my children leave Dix Street. I have always felt comfortable to come forward with any issues that may have come about and they have been dealt with in a very prompt manner. The teachers at Dix street have cared for my children as there own, communication has been wonderful, from weekly newsletters to notes home if needed. I will always remember the teachers and there impact they have had on my children and our family, thanks Dix street and all those who touched my children's life's, you will be in there memories and ours forever. You make it hard to find a school that could even come close to comparing. Again thanks you for caring and teaching my children.

I have four children, three of which are school age and attend Dix Street. I think our community is truly blessed by the educators and administration at Dix Street. These individuals go out of their way to make the school a peaceful and pleasant learning environment, and they make learning fun! The students are encourage to respect others, and are taught coping skills to use when disagreements arise. I have adopted some of these principles in my home (i.e. 'It bugs me when you __, I wish you would ___.' My older children are reading at least one grade level higher, and excelling in math and science. Dix Street also has excellent music, art, Spanish, library, health, and physical education programs.
