I was once a student at Monroe. I am now enrolled in online virtual school. I left Monroe for the plain fact that everything has gone down hill. And has been since I was a freshmen. I am now a junior. The problem I see most is the students. Students just don't care. And the students who do try never get the help they need. Almost like we are unable to reach our potential because we must go at a snails pace waiting for those who wont work, listen, or act appropriately. As for clubs and sports. I was never involved with them. So I can't tell you of their quality.

Classes are far too large and the student to teacher ratio is out of balance. A good example is the music program where you have one teacher for nearly two hundred children. Extra Curricular activities are phenomenal and well supported.

The principal does a good job, but the school board isn't the same. My daughter needed to make up credits and they wouldn't let her retake any classes during school hours. We would have to pay ridiculous amounts of money for online classes and summer school. My daughter is now attending Summit Academy in Romulus and has to drive 35 miles out just to get there. It's worth it because the online classes are free, and she can retake as many classes as she wants. She will now be graduating on time. Monroe High School's cafeteria is great compared to summit's and another good thing is the variety of classes.

Now I'm only a freshman here but I like the school. Only one thing in the school bothers me and that is the food. I like most of it and sometimes it's bad so it's hard to know when to bring lunch or buy. A other thing is that the food costs alot an average meal( entr e, two sides, a milk and a juice) is like $2.50. I think that is too much they should bring it down to $1.50 that would be better.
