It has been amazing for our son. He was utterly unchallenged, bored and frustrated before we came to Kazoo School. Now he loves school, and enjoys an age-appropriate level of physical activity every day. He loves being outside in the woods next to the school and is thriving in every single way that a parent would hope for. It's also a place for everyone, not a private school for rich families only. Through its scholarship program, Kazoo is able to offer families from all walks of life the opportunity to educate their kids in an environment that benefits the whole child.

Few decisions are as important as where to send your child to school. As parents, we took our time and researched all the available options. As I write this, I can honestly say that choosing Kazoo School is one of the best decisions we ever made as parents. Kazoo is a place where every child is known and cared for. A place where curiosity and creativity are valued. Its small size leads to a family atmosphere and much one on one in the classroom. In a world that is becoming more and more preoccupied with standardized testing at the sake of almost everything else, Kazoo School views outdoor recess, the arts, and daily physical education not as a luxury, rather a necessity. But above all, the reason we know we made the right decision choosing Kazoo is the happiness and progress of our child who runs into class each and every day excited to see what he will learn next...!

What an amazing environment for learning. Both of my children have thrived at Kazoo School with teachers who know and understand them, and who work to find the best ways to teach them. I've been thrilled by the recent hires of new 4-8th grade math and science teachers who work closely with each student to help them meet their potential after carefully assessing their needs through multiple assessments. The new head of school is thoughtful, has listened to concerns when I had them, and helped me see where issues I thought were problems had an easy fix. She is a real asset. I've had at least one child at the school for 8 years, and looking ahead, I'm excited about the possibilities for my youngest. There truly is a fabulous community, excited faculty, and strong leadership at Kazoo School.

I was a longtime parent at Kazoo School loved its progressive approach and nurturing atmosphere in the beginning. Unfortunately, it is a school in constant turmoil. In six years, it has changed leadership no less than four times. As a result of this instability, the enrollment has plunged, the teachers are given little guidance, and I witnessed my child's education suffer. Although I am no longer a parent there, my friends who are tell me the new interim head of school is eager to do the right thing, but unable to lead the school effectively and make tough changes due to her inexperience. I once loved this little gem of a school, but it is with a heavy heart that I no longer recommend it.

Kazoo School is an amazing place. My daughter attended Kazoo for eight years. She learned how to think deeply and critically, how to analyze information and create theses, how to speak and write clearly and with passion, and how to care for herself and for others. Kazoo School's progressive academic program is first rate. They are very dedicated to helping every child learn and grow. Add their amazing community service and outreach initiatives, place-based learning, strong environmental studies program, supportive, experienced teachers, and caring community, and you have a wonderful place for a child to learn and grow. All students are accepted, encouraged, and allowed to be themselves and every effort is made to accomodate different learning styles and abilities. My daughter was more than prepared for her transition to public high school and KAMSC, and continues to thrive, in part because of the foundation she was given at Kazoo.
