I find it ironic that people are complaining about what the principal said over the speaker to the student body without actually knowing what was said. I feel that it was handled rather well. GBHS is no longer a homogeneous that is was in the past and that scares people. So, if you'd REALLY want to know what was said and understand the TENSIONS that have arisen in a diverse school as the result of multiple incidents (one making national news for racial slurs), then please continue reading:"In the past few days, some of our GBHS students, staff and families have experienced uncertainty because of the new immigration sanctions from the Federal government. While normally I would not talk with you about issues such as this, I think it is an opportune time to remind staff and students what Grand Blanc HS stands for and expects from you.We call ourselves Bobcat Nation and the GB family because we have worked together to build a community full of students and adults who work together and support each other. Over the years, we have mourned together, celebrated together and created a place together that is special. Our school is made up of a diverse group of people. In a sense, we are all immigrants to this country somewhere along our family trees. That means that we all should strive to be empathetic, understanding, and tolerant of those who are different from us. We must embrace our differences, help one another and make our school, our community and our world a better place for everyone. This is the perfect time for each of us to make a decision to do whatΓÇÖs right for ourselves and for others. Please know that the doors of all of our classrooms and offices are open to all students of all backgrounds to listen to concerns and offer support."IF you notice, these view are not against to POTUS nor anti american. If you feel that the principal encouraging patience and solidarity and tolerance... maybe look inside yourself of what it means to be American.

I was informed by my grandchild today that a teacher maybe the principle announced over the schools PA to all students that the POTUS immigration policy was wrong. Keep your biased political opinions to yourself and away from my children and grandchildren. Who ever is responsible for this should be fired.

Very much displeased with Grand Blanc High School. Office staff have poor attitudes, teachers treat their kids as though they are educating college students, and staff in general are not at all welcoming. They also have a serious drug problem that is not being addressed.

My son received an excellent, well rounded education at Grand Blanc High School. When he was in the 8 th grade we had contemplated sending him to a smaller school but in hindsight I'm glad we did not. He had the opportunity to experience the competition of the real world in a controlled environment. The AP classes were excellent. They have prepared him well for college. As far as the social atmosphere at this school it all depends on the student and the company he/ she chooses to keep.
