Eastover Elementary School Ratings & Reviews

Terrible. Consistant strong preventable violence (Slapping, stabbing with pencils, kicking in head.) in the Classroom, inactive and strongly caviler Teachers not protecting Children under MI Anti-bullying Statutes and Student Protection Acts even when Students complain of feeling unsafe, poor investigations by Principal and Teachers telling mistruths and being distrustworthy. Academically failing in contrast to Northville and Rochester Schools winning Blue Ribbon recognition and higher State standardized test scores. School is notorious for breaking Federal Law demonstrating uncompliance w/Student's 504 Medical plans. Infamous lawsuits: Cite Hudson vs BHSD and Allen vs BHSD. Bus driver ran through stop lights hitting a Train resulting in Students being injured on the Bus. Social racism problem within the School demonstrated from Teachers and Students alike. More severe problems each year.

In 2017, the principal and school board decided to move fourth graders to the middle school along with the fifth graders who were moved previously. Although parents strongly disagreed their plan went ahead. The teachers are outstanding at Eastover but others put money and politics above your children's education. Your children deserve better than Eastover!

It's our first year at Eastover-- we have been so impressed by the teachers, administration, initiatives, specials, DHH program, just about everything. And our kids love it too!

Strong leadership and very competent teachers! Nurturing environment and innovative. I'm happy my son had the opportunity to attend this school.

My 3 kids have attended Eastover, 2 of them are still there. We've had a really good experience. Some teachers are good, others are outstanding! All 3 kids have needed extra challenges academically and most of their teachers were more than willing to help keep them challenged. I especially like how the visible thinking initiative helps all students with strategies on how to think outside the box, think out loud, and most importantly be willing to take risks in the classroom. Eastover is a National Blue Ribbon School and consistently wins grants for many programs. I attend most PTO meetings as well as some district meetings and I'm happy to be in a district that continues every year to be innovative, strives for excellence, and is motivated by students' best interests.
