Bingham Farms Elementary School Ratings & Reviews

Teacher training in special education needs immediate attention. The student/teacher ratio is also a cause for concern and needs reevaluation. I agree with a similar review that the principal does not resolve conflicts. It is very much his way only and he definitely does not care how it affects anyone including the innocent children.

Once you enter Bingham Farms Elementary School, you quickly see the open, warm culture we have at our school. "Be Your Bingham Best" resonates in everything that we do. In our diverse learning community, we value diversity, encourage risk taking and embed both challenge and assistance through engaging instructional practices. Our school was humbled to be selected as a National School of Character in 2011, for our commitemnt to our core values of Responsibility, Respect, Honesty & Kindness. We continue to innovate and engage all of our learners. Through a committed Title I staff we have interventions like our BBC morning program, and for enrichment opportunities we have Math Pentathlon, Battle of the Books, Science Olympiad, Tech Club, Troubadours, Student Council Reflections, BF Stars & more! I have had the distinct privilege of leading this amazing community of caring families, dedicated staff and wonderful kids for the past 12 years. I look forward to many more. If you are looking and are in our nieghborhood, stop on by for a tour. Submitted with great pride and 100% transparency Russ Facione Bingham Farms Principal 248 203 3388 rf03bps@birmingham.k12.mi.us

There are some great teachers and staff at this school. As with all schools, there are also some who leave much to be desired. This is a small school, so classes are smaller. There are several areas that feed into the school, which creates geographic, socio-economic and racial diversity, but not necessarily an inclusive community. Bingham is among the best public elementary schools in the area, and the best we've seen after experiencing 3 other elementary schools in 2 different districts. We really wish the district had some type of talented/gifted program like others in MI--it seems advanced kids are being "left behind" as teachers focus their attention on the middle and bottom. We are also not convinced that the move to a "common" core will better prepare kids to compete globally and distinguish themselves although MI public education pales in comparison to what we've seen in TX, NC and MD. So we have chosen private school--more as a better fit for our kids' needs, less because we are disappointed with Bingham. The principal is dedicated and clearly loves leading the school. He made us feel welcome and was responsive when we needed him. Keep being your Bingham Best!

The principal does not handle conflicts. He ignores the parents and staffs concerns. It is his way only and he does not care how it affects anyone including the innocent children. Teachers and other staff are great. Curriculum is great. Community is great. Principal not so great.
