Lots of improvements in academic offerings at this school. Four new AP courses, History of Rock and Roll, and more. Interventions are offered for students who still struggle with basic skills. Come check it out.

Alot of racist students (since 95% of the school is white) and too many bullys at the school. If a student(s) gets in trouble they go to RTC and write a meaning less plan and come right back to the classroom, probably going to do the same thing, because the school lacks decipline. There are a few teachers that are very good at their job and their are some that shouldn'y be teachers at all!!!

This school is the absolute BEST I've ever been to. All of the teachers are amazing. It is air conditioned and it has amazing security. I feel so comforted in this school. I came from a different school and I have never felt this welcome in my Life, and the kids are very nice. If I was a parent I would DEFINITELY send my kid to this school. Great programs also. Since 2005 everything has been updated. I love it there.

Science department is particularly strong, especially chemistry; English department is weak in advanced levels and many of its strongest faculty members have retired or shifted to other subjects in recent years. Math is solid. History classes depend a little too much on movies to keep kids interested. The fine arts are very good, and the technical arts are supported by the exceptional Bay-Arenac ISD Career Center. Lack of A.P. classes across the board is a definite drawback. The faculty is overwhelmingly caring, though there are always a few bad apples. I know several people who would have dropped out if it weren't for the the intervention of some particularly compassionate staff members.

I have three sucessful young ladies who all have attended this school. Like any school, if the student has positive support, they will migrate toward success and John Glenn is an excelent platform to give them a great start. My children understand that the choices they made in this school, laid the foundation they needed to be sucessful in college and in life. If you are intrested in providing your child with a great school, great community and positive role models, than you need not look any further. (I have 3 children all carried 3.5 gpa or better over a 10 year span youngest to graduate 2008)
