Hermon High School Ratings & Reviews

Hermon High School is a place where teachers are more that the gate keepers to your success in life. They are your friends. They go out of their way to make sure that each student is performing to their best ability. The whole school system creates a learning environment where everyone can understand. There are UTC Programs offered to juniors and seniors, a large variety of extra-curricular activities including sport teams such as golf, football, field hockey, soccer, cross country, indoor and outdoor track, basketball, cheerleading, wrestling, tennis baseball, and softball. There are numerous clubs such as Key Club, French Club, Spanish Club, and Hiking Club. But it doesn't stop there. Any student can talk to administration to set up a place to host any other clubs.

I think Hermon is up and comming. The technology is increadable. Small staff of caring teachers and a principle with new ideas, makes Hermon a perfect choice for parents.

Hermon High School offers a beautiful facility, a visionary principal, and an excellent faculty. The school has small school atmosphere with academic advantages of larger schools. The technology is so innovative foreign visitors have come to learn about it. The principal sets high standards for academics and discipline, but is personable and friendly, and offers students an open invitation to start new clubs based on their interests. After looking at private school options, we decided to stick with Hermon and we are happy with the decision. The music program has improved, and includes jazz band and chamber choir. Plans are underway for a steel pan band. A former Broadway actor/singer is one-act play director, leading the school to first place in the state. The administration is open to parent involvement. Graduates have gone on to Ivy League and military academies. If students work hard, they will do well anywhere.

I had one son that graduated from HHS and one child who is in the 10th grade. I have been very satisfied with the quality of programs that I have dealt with at HHS-academics and sports. As with most schools, it is all what a child wants to make it. The parents that I have heard complaining about the teachers and school are the ones who will not go in and talk to the teachers or administration. They would rather lay blame on someone else-then where it should go-to the student and parent. HHS is always amazingly clean and I have found all of the teachers and office staff to be very courteous and helpful. I love HHS and I think they do an outstanding job of looking out for the students best interest!
