School administration is very poor. School does not want to work with parents with problems suspend students is their answer. Needs improvement understanding students needs and solving problems instead of creating problems.

My daughter LOVES her Teacher in third grade. She is a great communicator with parents! The teacher does great at keeping classroom control. Even though form time to time my daughter needs discipline by the teacher she still loves her and seems to be learning by leaps and bounds despite slight ADA issues. The school is EXTREMELY based (it seems) in the MSA benchmarks which is a good goal, but should not be the end all of the teaching. I do think some students seem to be discouraged in voicing their beliefs if they in anyway (may) offend another though. THIS IS NOT REAL WOLRD and is disheartening! I witnessed one kid NOT being acknowledged for his answer to a question because it was based on his belief system. At least acknowledge the kid don't leave him feeling embarrassed to answer. THAT IS AS UNFAIR as supporting his answer and making some others feel bad. WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT BELIEFS, to not acknowledge that is UNREALISTIC and even DETRAMENTAL! OVerall though the environment seems fairly safe for learning though the SECURITY of the school IS NOT. Parents/others do NOT need buzzed in to get into doors. On a busy day you could get buy the office easy. I do NOT like this.

The curriculum taught is strictly for the MSA and benchmarks. The students have to share books and are very seldom allowed to bring them home to study-not even for a test. Handouts or any other study aids are seldom seen. There are also some ineffective teachers. Parents are not welcome in some classrooms. How are our children supposed to learn? Bullying is very much alive and well at this school and I don't see much being done to effectively stop it. It sometimes scares me to send my child to school .

Both our boys went to FI. Excellent teachers (all three grades) and active administrative staff.
