My 4 years at the school were the worst. The administration doesn't care about students unless they've got money or play football. They literally invented the grade D- so that more people can play sports. My freshman year I had many teachers and administrators tell me "about 1/3 of you will probably repeat this year". They were so nonchalant about it, as if that is normal. There are only a few teachers there who care about students and most of them retired or were laid off by the school.

There is a serious bullying problem at this school that the administration insists does not exist. After 3 years of trying to work with administrators to address this I ended up pulling my daughter out to homeschool her. I truly feared for my daughter's well being if she continued in the Stoughton schools. Also, you won't get a school bus unless you pay their extortion fee, regardless of how far from the school you live, and despite having high property taxes.

If you think about moving to the suburbs, you're not getting your money's worth here! The office is disorganized and consists of lazy secretaries. The guidance office offers no help in college preparation, and when asked if the junior class may take a field trip to the college fair in Boston a guidance counselor responded, and I quote, "most of the kids at stoughton high aren't college bound", which is completely false. Given this is a blue collar town a lot of the students here work to provide for their families which may explain their lacking in grades. But they don't even offer any sufficient tutoring here anyways. I'm on my way to ap and honors classes my senior year; and I wish they would just admit the school is poor and has no money for field trips, enough school buses for all students, or a renovation, and stop blaming the students.

As a student i do believe respect comes first to the teacher. But i'm going to say that some of the teachers don't return the favor. I find this school OK and decent but one thing i really do not find acceptable is the way this school handles discipline. If a student is referred to the office he/she has absolutely no chance of getting the assistant principles to go with their side of the story and give you a chance. They just read anything the teacher reports and go along with it, just basically letting you tell your story for fun!

I went to this school for two years, my freshman and senior year. Never have I been more disrespected, tortured and teased by students. Teachers usually don't care or do much for it and write it off as kids will be kids. The principal told me my freshman year that when I was made fun of for being hispanic it was just character building and the way people my age interacted. Teachers will pass and fail who they want based on more than just performance. When I was a few weeks away from graduation my creative writing teacher found that one of our football players could not read or write at a senior proficiency and he was still being graduated. I don't think this school is a good school for anybody. I think between the kids and the teachers it makes it a very hard and cruel place to be.
