I love Dufrocq. My son is in the Montessori program and his teacher is excellent. He is three and is reading under her guidance. The school inspires learning, has a wonderful atmosphere, engaged teachers - we absolutely love it. I did not give the highest ranking to homework because my son is in pre-K and their homework is minimal. I will be happy to update when I learn more about homework for older students.

I frequently volunteer at The Dufrocq School, and I can testify that the administration is 100% committed to the welfare of all of their students. I am proud to associate with these educators.

I honestly dislike this school and every staff member I've come in contact with... Office personnel is very rude, and always try to belittle anything "certain" parents have to say. My son is a first time 5th grader here from a private school of 4 yrs. He's been bullied by students, scissors have been pulled out on him, glasses taken off his face. He's even been discredited and had slangs sent "indirectly" towards him in the classroom... By the teacher. I've had several school meetings, conferences, and a trip to school board. Only to have the same office staff not even speak to me anymore!! Dufrocq is a facade. I am definitely praying this year ends quickly. This school only caters to those coming from the Garden District area, and kids in the kindergarten, Montessori program. It's ridiculous the way they handle kids... Being a caring, concern, parent friendly professional is definitely not in the staff at this school.

Dufrocq School is the worst magnet school in EBRP. Lets start with the staff, it is so hilarious that the staff cannot even read a single calendar date properly. When I submitted my child's typed absence letter, the staff could not follow simple English language and I had to explain the dates of absence. The staff comes out as rude but I don't think they are but they are just illiterate. Now faculty, abhorrent! I had my two babies in Dufrocq, one graduated from 5th grade and could not perform well in middle school with kids from other good magnet schools. And when I saw that I removed my other child from her third grade put her in Forest heights, she is way happier there. Kids deserve a better treatment, rich curriculum, elementary education is the foundation. The scores in math and science are contributed by 16% and there is probably 3% faculty really worthy of being a teacher. Dufrocq not only delivers poorest curriculum in EBRP but the kids are very unhappy there. Dufrocq needs a serious overhaul!

I personally would not recommend Dufrocq school. It is alright maybe for pre-k and KG but not higher grades. If you want kids to excel in academics and moral growth this school is certainly not the first choice or second choice.
