"Well, where shall I begin? Northfield teachers effectively prepare their lessons to meet the needs of every student. They believe and care about how students progress academically, emotionally and socially. Students in turn take pride in their work. They learn to evaluate, prioritize, problem solve etc.. Basically they develop and refine skills to enhance their inner strengths as human beings, and expand their mental abilities so they may think for themselves beyond the classroom. Overall Northfield demonstrates a true ""community"" atmosphere: strong parent involvement, committed teachers, and an amazing administration which leads by example."

After his first week at Northfield the oldest of our 5 children told us that he wouldn't want to be any other place but there. He had endured bullying and boredom after progressing beyond the curriculum. At Northfield he found a place that valued his academic abilities and appetite for literature, history and discourse. Northfield classes are small in order to allow teachers and students to build meaningful relationships. Northfield students have gained such an outstandinge reputation from their time spent in community service that organizations (Habitat for Humanity, Hospitals of Hope, Trees for Life) call to ask the students to serve with them. Northfield prepares students for college life also. Our second son received 12 hours of college credit at John Brown University (Arkansas) for the course work he completed during his years at Northfield School. It is place where students learn the building blocks of all their subjects (grammar), the methods of processing, understanding and organizing those ideas, formulae and facts (logic) and then ultimately to express themselves in written and spoken forms (rhetoric).

"Northfield is a community. It is a family. This school has changed the lives of three of my children. They have been stretched and have been enticed to be the leaders God has meant them to be. They are forced to think and to apply what they learn. And most importantly, God is glorified in this place. The teachers care for the students and show it by sacrificing their time to help them with homework and projects. They encourage and adjust workloads as needed. The leadership is passionate about true learning and not ""dumbing down."" Their passion is contagious and energizing. May all students have the privilege that mine have had to attend a school that encourages them to think, solve problems and remain faithful to their Creator."

We are an eclectic group of parents, teachers, and students who believe more in the lighting of fires than in the filling of buckets, more in relationships than in agendas, more in Homer than in Captain Underpants, more in why than in what, more in service than in being served, more in them than in me, and more in love of learning than in love of winning. Our two old schoolhouses are filled with books about ancient history, well-loved violins, and chalkboards filled with grammar terms. We may not be fancy, but we're passionate and, when it comes to learning, that's what counts.

This is the absolute best education for 6-12 grade. It teaches all aspects of education, public speaking, community service, writing, drama, music, choir, with emphasis on making well-rounded citizens that are college ready. The teachers genuinely care about their students and there are many school events to encourage community with one another. I would strongly recommend this school if you want your child to have the best education in this area.
