Overall it doesn't prepare students for their future in the real world. If they were to prepare students for their future careers and challenges in life and discussed more insightful conversation regarding social and emotional intelligence I believe the school would thrive however until that occurs I would rank this school a 5 or 6. The way they teach doesn't allow for nearly as much growth or development as necessary to thrive. Either it's completely hands-off or micromanaging neither of which are successful. More opportunities to learn and grow would bump this school up for me. However to each their own.

Very happy with the students, staff and community. I don't know why there's negative comments.

"I've had 2 children go through the nightmare of Z-West. I wish I had honestly just driven them to Z-middle. The 18-1 student ratio listed is a joke. That's not true. The teacher turn over rate is rediculous because they can't handle the entitled/disrespectful students cursing them out daily. The amount of bullying that is allowed at this school is disheartening!!! The only punishment is watching bullying videos and then the kids continue to repeat offend. Zionsville is too concerned with keeping its top notch reputation, that it's not taking the steps needed to improve the quality of the student body. Admit there's a problem and FIX it!!! The amount of drugs, sexual activity, and chaos is also a detrimental! They choose to ""rehabilitate"" the child instead of removing the bad apple from the bunch. Many parents I know are disgusted with their current experience and desperately want change!!!! Scott Robinson better make some huge moves soon before the monkeys overrun that circus!!!! I know of at least 6 families who are now homeschooling due to this school failing their child. Wake up ZWEST!!!"

This school gives way to much homework to even begin with. I am a student here and I get home at 3:30 pm and don't go to bed until 10-11 pm. You have to take extra tests (NWEA) that other school don't have to take. You are REQUIRED to have laptops and do almost ALL of your homework online. This school sucks. I would go somewhere else. Don't listen to those ratings about how its a 4 star school..I hate it so much X.X

I have been to Zionsville West Middle school and I hated it. The school lunches were designed in labs and are served from a cardboard box. This school also does not do anything to stop bullying, they play videos from the 90's about bullies who beat up kids for their lunch money. I had a friend who was constantly bullied and even though he went to the guidance office for help they did absolutely nothing the help him, so I was his only help.
