Westfield High School is overpopulated and badly managed. For the 2018 year, they decided to do a huge building project to make an already too big school even bigger. The problem is they have cut off half of the parking and 90% of the ways to get there to drop off your student. The Westfield Police Dept. are doing a terrible job of directing the traffic and there is one point of entry to drop off your child and it's ran horribly. A police officer today demanded that my daughter exit my vehicle 100 yards farther than normal in the rain and she is about 90lbs and has to carry an already too heavy backpack because the school is so big that she'd rather carry all her books with her then deal with the densely populated hallways and risk being late to make it to her locker! I am a divorced parent and have my daughter half of the time, we drive 40 miles to get her to school on my days. We now have to leave a half hour earlier than we already did and even if we left an hour earlier there is no guarantee you will make it on time as we sat at a 4 way stop waiting to turn left to get to the only entrance they will allow now because a Westfield Policeman didn't let our lane move for 25 minutes today. This place is a nightmare and you are just a number there and the vast majority of people drop there kids off at this school as it is a privileged community and the police are rude and bullies that seek revenue instead of law in order in everything they do.

I was a quiet, reserved student in high school. I didnt make friends easily and was very reserved at first. Awesome experiences with teachers and coaches (no I was not a star player, just a manager) really helped me come out of my shell and made school much more enjoyable. I made good grades, but circumstances made school increasingly difficult for me. Thanks to some very hand-on, Craig teachers I was able to save and improve my gpa, finish with a dual honors diploma, and get into to the college program I wished for. I am forever grateful I was able to attend Westfield High School.

If you grew up in Westfield, and your parents went to Westfield, then this school is probably great. A vast majority of the students attending are local and have lived there their whole lives. I was surprised by this when we moved here. With all the growth in population and housing, I would have thought the school would have a good inclusion program for new students, but they do not. The school is like a huge small town school with cliques. Your kid play sports? Forget getting a fair shot here. Teams are already established before tryouts. If your child is young (below grade 7), then there is hope that they can get included socially, but do not send your kid to this school if they are in high school.

I had a great time here and learned a lot, I'm not sure what these parents are talking about, there were plenty od challenging courses, ACP, AP, Foreign language, Engineering and Accounting and business are just a few of them. AP psychology here made me realise i wanted to be a psychologist. the simple truth of the matter is how much you get out depends on how much you put in. all the courses mentioned above are optional for the ordinary core 40 and we even have programs with the bigger indy schools for people who know they want to work in the automotive industry or cosmetology or other programs.

"As an alumni of this school system, as well as having students who have attended here, I can truly say that there has been a decline in education in this system. From the counseling department, the dean, the principal, as well as several members of the school board, have decided that if a child is having issues academically and whose test scores arent up to par, they much rather push these children out of the school system, into an ""alternative"" school or just allow them to drop out all together. ""Attitude reflects leadership"", and I truly hope this school system actively listens to what students, parents, and even some teachers have stressed which is that this school system and its education has declined and do what it takes to become great again."
