Having read a few of the reviews here, it seems to me that some people have had issues with Trinity School at Greenlawn. I am sorry to hear that, and I do not wish to diminish the problems you had. I am not you, so I do not know how things were going for you at Trinity, but I do know my experience. Though I disagree with some posts on this site, I do not wish to start any arguments. I am simply here to share my thoughts about Trinity School.I attended Trinity from seventh grade through senior year, and am familiar with its strengths. First, and most importantly, the faculty at Trinity School are excellent overall. They truly care for their students, and spend countless hours, even outside of class, working with students who may require extra help. Many faculty members have advanced degrees in their fields, and could be working anywhere they choose, but instead they work at Trinity School because of their belief in its mission. They are intelligent, but also kind and forgiving. Another strength of Trinity School is the single sex classes. Single sex classes allow the different sexes to express themselves more fully than they would normally, because there is less fear of embarrassment. However, comradery and friendships between the sexes are not discouraged, but encouraged, especially among the older grades, who take several classes with the opposite sex. I have many friends of the opposite sex whom I came to know at Trinity. Finally, Trinity’s high school curriculum is second to none. Students are exposed to a full education, including emphasis on mathematics, science, drama, art, and literature. Humane Letters classes teach students how to discuss well, and math and science classes teach students how the world works, in detail. Though classes are difficult, students experience the full breadth of what each subject has to offer. Am I saying Trinity School is perfect? No, I have had my struggles. Some faculty members are difficult to deal with, the school is underfunded (though show me a small private school that is not), and the policies can be difficult sometimes. However, no institution is perfect. Trinity School is excellent, with lots of well-meaning and kind people. The most important thing that Trinity has taught me is how to work hard, even when I think I cannot. This is an invaluable gift, and I will always be grateful for it. I would whole-heartedly recommend sending your student to Trinity School at Greenlawn; you will be glad you did.

I am a current student and I feel trapped inside the walls of this school. Due to the amount of students and how readily they give away scholarships, the school is underfunded. This means resources and opportunities are limited. Not only that but currently thy have a shortage of teachers so the hire almost anybody. Instead of concentrating on the teachers ability to teach they focus on the teachers enthusiasm for the subject which, specially in the sciences, leaves students confused when the teacher can not correctly convey the required information to the students. It may present itself as a perfect classical education but a lot of students at high school level would leave if given the opportunity. Furthermore segregation between girls and boys as well as everyone knowing each has caused me to lose my ability to hold small talk with strangers. They actively discourage boys and girls talking to each other individually in order to prevent 'romantic' relationships. Often if students are caught alone with a member of the opposite sex then they will be punished. As a student I would advise parents to look into other high schools in the area before sending your child to trinity. There are probably better options with more choice out there.

Trinity has been a wonderful safe place for my girls. Their curriculum and staff and how they get to know each individual student. The community that is created is so wonderful!!

I was a student there for all 6 years available for students, 7-12. The levels of depression and anxiety I suffered as a result from this poor excuse of a school resulted in me having suicidal thoughts and feelings of anxiety towards education, even after having graduated and moved out of state for college. The teachers, with the only two exceptions having left the school now, according to their website, care more about making a good face for the school instead of actually trying to help struggling students or recognizing a student's one outstanding talent in favor of students who are able to fit into all the ideals of their model student. Not to mention their focus on the classical method of schooling does not help students find a job today, as any electives they offer are extremely limited and the required classes do not steer students to the right major when they leave for colleges and universities. Students will also receive little counselling as to what career path they should take, making the decision of what to do with their lives after graduation all that much harder.I know everyone else is all happy about this school and saying how great it was, but please, take it from an alumni, you'd be better off having your child take a GED.

My daughter went to school at Trinity for 7 & 8th grade and absolutely loved it! I was blown away at our first parent - teacher conference! The teachers were not only fully dedicated and knowledgeable about my daughter, they were truly excited to take on any academic challenges. I remember telling the math teacher that my daughter didn't really enjoy math and one of the other teachers said "here's your challenge Mr. ---, make her love math!" and he became so excited at the idea. My daughter loved the assignments and projects! The biggest issues for me was that socially it was terrible. The boys and girls were not even allowed to speak to each other at lunch. Square dancing and ice cream socials were the regular social activities, which seemed extremely dated. The lack of having any choice in the curriculum felt limiting as well. My daughter said if you could combine the enthusiasm and dedication of the teachers with the social and educational opportunities of Marian HS, she would have hands down preferred to stay at Trinity. Overall I think it is an amazing school! My daughter was very shy and I felt she needed to be exposed to more socially before she went to high school.
