I'm a graduate of NAHS and I brought my family back to New Albany because I remembered it being a special place. But, for parents of student athletes, there is very little support(outside of that coming from good parents and coaches) for any sport outside of boys basketball. So unless you are going to bring in a perspective basketball player, seek out another school. My oldest daughter just graduated and was a three time team captain, three time team MVP and three time nominee for the area's girls soccer player of the year award the athletic director would not even give us the opportunity to purchase a single of her four soccer jerseys, even one of two that been used for four seasons and had been retired to JV (where there were more jerseys than players.) My daughter's development was through club soccer, not the school system. We were told she was the FIRST EVER two time all-district girls soccer player to ever play for New Albany. And while on the parents side we were constantly pushed to fund raise for the team, I just don't see the benefit. In all, I think that our family brought in about $4,000 in fund raising over the four years she was a student there and on top of that we probably spent at least another $3,500 buying the entire team personalized team shirts and buying pre game day meals for the team, all of which was paid out directly from my own pocket (because I wanted to do good for the team) you are going tell me you can't do anything to help us when we ask to purchase a jersey? This was pathetic and we deserved better than this.

Great experience! We are parents of two students currently enrolled at New Albany High School and a 2013 graduate of NAHS. We have always been very happy with their opportunities and accomplishments in the classroom and their extra-curricular activities and sports. NAHS offers something for every student. Communication with parents is consistent and timely; regardless of what you may read in other reviews. Actually, it is quite difficult for parents to be unaware of what is going on unless, of course, they make that choice. Parents are allowed access to grades, progress reports, school announcements, and other information on a daily basis. Discipline matters always involve parents. Teachers and counselors make contact with parents regularly and for good and bad reasons. The school has consistently worked hard to raise student test scores, while not just teaching to a test, and it has worked. Test scores have met or surpassed state averages, or have risen significantly over the last few years. Don't believe what a few disgruntled parents write. Reach out to the folks at New Albany High School and they will happily share any information you would like to know about. That is what we did and we couldn't be happier with our choice to send our children to NAHS.

It's got everything offered for any interest your child may have. Also, a diverse range of students for a solid real world experience.

I have had 3 children attend NAHS. I have had zero positive experiences with this school. The school is very much political and does nothing for those students that may not be a part of the in-crowd. The school disciplines students differently and also does not supply support for parents who want to be an active part in their students' education. I must also include that drugs are a big issue at NAHS. I have had no positive experiences from the counselors Stewart or Givens. The new school resource officer is also a joke.

My experience at New Albany High School was unsatisfactory. The school is extremely unclean and nasty, and sometimes i would go in the cafeteria and the food would have visible mold on it. In recent years, the school has been in the news for numerous reasons including fights, bedbugs and jumpings. The administration, turns their heads away from the problems convincing themselves that there is not a problem, when clearly there is. Bullying is a huge issue at this school and often is ignored by staff. To fully understand the issues at the school, you have to live in it as i did. I am truly grateful that i had to opportunity to get out of the environment after my time there.
