I find it odd some of the post on here. Clearly by people who wanted everything handed to them. I went to NHS and attended Middlebury Schools from 3rd grade on. I had a parent who worked for the school system. The teachers do their best for each and every student who wants to do something. If a child doesn't want to succeed then they aren't going to fight them on it. They will still make the effort and make themselves available, but it is up to the student to make the decision to succeed as it is in any school. Teachers don't play favorites they simply pay more attention to those actively seeking more attention. Yes of coarse there are drugs in the school, there are in every school in the United States, but they aren't visible unless you seek them out. Administration to single anyone out either; if you catch the attention of the Principal in a negative way it is because you were doing something wrong no other reason. If you had a bad experience as a student or parent it is because you wanted the bad experience because you like to complain. If you had a good experience it is because you sought out the things you needed to succeed like those who want to have success will. Northridge was great and I'm glad I went there and wish other schools were like NHS because we could use a school that from the top to the bottom tries as hard as the administration and staff do at NHS where I'm at now.

I was a student at Northridge up until last year. The teachers play favorites, the principals discipline people for no reason just to fill a quota of students punished. The bullying is horrible and the teachers just stand there and watch. The drug problem is way out of hand. My experience with the school was awful from Middle School and the High School.

Northridge has a drug problem just like any other school. But due to a wealthy area it is kept out of the news. They also waist to much money on arts and entertainment they should be teaching basic living courses. We had three sons graduate from NHS in the past and the waist of books and materials was shameful. Several workbooks they did not even use still new at the end of year what a waist of parents money on book rental.

My children attend Northridge High School and have been in the school district for 13 years. Academically, the children are challenged with a variety of material. They offer many different diploma paths. However, they (school officials) are selective in who they help and how available they are. They greatly favor the more affluent portion of the student population. We have 2 NHS graduates and a couple that are close to graduation, in all that time the children and I can only count a handful of exceptional educators. Most fall woefully below that description. Even though my children are almost through with high school, we have decided that it is in our best interest to move away from the school system. In short, less privileged people (socioeconomically speaking) and people with diverse cultural backgrounds may want to reconsider attending. If my kids were of a different ethnicity in this area I would homeschool or send them to Goshen or Elkhart! Parent involvement is not a good thing when small minded people are chosen for positions of influence over the minds of young people!
