The teachers and leadership are inept and students are discouraged from independent thought and are subjected to bullying by both teachers and their peers. The children do not learn at a sufficient level or rate as compared to peer institutions and are ill prepared for higher education, employment in the workforce, or life in general.

I was a teacher at this institution for two years, and in that time, I observed dynamics that oblige me to warn prospective families away from it. Parents of children at this school feel the need to remind administration and teachers that their tuition dollars pay our private school salaries, and they threaten administration to remove their children (and hence tuition dollars) from the school at the slightest instance in which their whims are not satisfied. On more than one occasion, I had this rhetoric thrown in my face. Moreover, parents at this school seem to feel that their tuition dollars have pre-purchased college scholarships for their children. If a grade is assigned which they dislike, (such as a B instead of an A, or a C instead of a B), then they will enact a meeting or a phone conversation. More often that not, these conversations are not even attempted with the teacher, but made directly to a school administrator, so that they can complain about the teacher, threaten tuition dollars, etc. Which segues into my next point...the school administration will typically cave to the parents' tactics in these instances and force the teacher to capitulate in some manner to parent/student demands, leading to a lop-sided authority relationship within the classroom. In my first year at this school, a fellow teacher encountered an incident of cheating in her classroom, and brought it to the attention of the administration. The ensuing retributory actions by parents and students against this teacher caused her to resign. I later learned that several students in her class had collectively decided to bully her to the point where she wanted to quit. It worked. The teacher maintained that the administration supported her, but I had my suspicions because of her subsequent resignation. The following year, I also encountered a situation of cheating in my classroom. As a response, I gave another assessment over the same material. Several students received lower grades, and subsequently complained to school administration. When I in turn explained that the students' were cheating and acting overtly disrespectful, the administration told me that they had known the students for years and didn't believe me. There is much more to say, but I approach my word limit, so I will end by encouraging families (especially teachers) to stay far away from this backward institution.

I see a few comments regarding children not getting the right guidance based on specific disorders. My son has ADHD. i can tell you that it's not the school that's the problem. There are going to be issues at any school, based on the teacher's specific experience with children with disorders. My son was bullied....yes, bullied by a teacher at a public school because she didn't understand that his behavior was due to something he couldn't help. This, despite the fact that I explained to each and every teacher via email that his medications were being adjusted, so to please let me know if there were any issues. He was taunted and accused of "sitting there doing nothing again", even though he was getting an A in that class. My point is, you cannot blame an entire school for one teacher's behavior. Yes, Faith does have high expectations out of their students, teachers, AND families. In a world full of entitled children, who seem to think that the rules shouldn't apply to them, I find Faith to be a refreshing change. My children are held accountable if they exhibit poor behavior, as are the rest of the students. Any and all bullying issues are dealt with immediately and appropriately. My kids feel safe there. Most of the staff are wonderful teachers and great individuals in general. As with any school, you are going to have educators who are not up to your standards and do not meet your expectations. I find that to be the exception rather than the rule at Faith. We are proud to be a Faith family.

I went to this school for nearly 5 years and it was a nightmare. Cookie cutter Christian is right! My brother colored a picture incorrectly once. It was first grade..kids CAN color apples green. Apparently not at this school. Certain children are treated better than others and I was one of the 'outcasts'. My first day of kindergarten, I cried because I was nervous...and my teacher glared at me, then simply stated in front of the whole class You are only embarrassing yourself. Ha, words that have stuck with me for sure. Those are a few of the numerous examples I could give. I was academically ahead, however...but if you prize that above your childs emotional state then by all means send them! As far as I know the rest of my class was fine...only two other kids were treated as I was. Don't chance it and risk your kids experiencing what we did. So that's my story, I hope it helps whoever reads this. ~Emily

I am withdrawing my child today. Not a place of Christian fellowship. They ostracized her and allowed other students to taunt her and pick on her until she reacted. then she was the only child to get into trouble. They allowed other students to stomp on her foot over and over again not intervening until she stepped on someone's foot and then they Mistreat and made her feel inferior . We came from a Christian school where she was loved and accepted; not the case here.
