Please note the sources used for much of this site are based on 2015 information. Shortridge is now a 100% International Baccalaureate program and prepares students very well for college or the world after high school. I encourage you to visit the school to see it for yourself. My son transferred to Shortridge from one of the city's elite private school and he is more academically challenged here than he was there.

Shortridge turned into an International Baccalaureate Magnet in the fall of 2015. My son started as a freshman and we absolutely love it. Love the IB curriculum, the staff and principal! The information about sports and clubs on this site right now is inaccurate. Shortridge also has a strong emphasis on community and service. There is so much more to rave about, check out their website and read the Blue Book to get all the details.

I am an alumni of Shortridge as well as a neighbor, and involved in the community and projects for the raising of scholarships, and making the school an anchor of the community. We have several projects with the school in the areas of art, environmental stewardship and green practices. The school has a lot of spirit and the administrators, faculty and staff are committed to making this a class act. The students are eager, always helpful and bright. We look forward to our continued relationship with administration, faculty, staff, parents and students of Shortridge Magnet Law and Public Policy school.

My daughter attended grades K-7 at the same school. The longer she went, the worse conditions got. The school was turning into a breeding ground for fights and total chaos. The best thing I could ever have done for her was switch to Shortridge Law&Public Policy Magnet High School. She is enjoying her education again. The school is clean and bright and the staff is warm and welcoming. I finally feel safe leaving her at school again! Community involvement is a key part of the school's draw. Lots of stuff for the kids to do to help others in the neighborhood! I couldnt have made a better choice for my daughter than Shortridge!
