Raymond Park Middle School, it serves the seventh through eighth grade. Now, this school has ALOT of issues. As someone who was a student there recently, trust me, parents, you don't want your kid going here. What goes on in this school definitely shouldn't happen in a school. Especially middle school, the years in which kids go through changes and make or break a person. So, the first topic, is the administrators. The Vice Principal, Dr. Radford, who started when I was in seventh grade, is a very control-hungry person. She's banned kids from going to their lockers during passing period, which causes us to have to carry our lunch, textbooks, gym clothes, and binders all at once. And no bags are allowed to be carried around, so the only thing that it's good for is building muscle, I guess? She's disliked, even by the staff. Another issue with the administration at Raymond Park; Racism. That's right, parents, racism. Now, what I mean by this is that if you're white/asian/mixed, you get a harsher punishment for things than african-americans/hispanics. Another issue, is teachers. Now, there are some GREAT teachers at this school, but most of them are pretty bad. There was a teacher fired for watching pornography on his computer when students came in, for goodness sakes! One of the teachers I had in eighth grade's husband is one of the deans at Warren Central, and she'd (Mrs. Dawn Steimel) openly threaten kids saying if they didn't do what she liked, she'd make sure her husband "gave them hell in high school". Then you have teachers on their phones all period.Dress code; Same as the Intermediate, but more lenient. But if you're caught wearing a headband/hijab/etc, prepare for the worst. Vice Principal banned those, and told the parents of a Muslim student to go to another school. Finally, building maintenence. There is mold in the cafeteria, in the kitchen, near doors, behind clocks, exposed power outlets, and broken fixtures everywhere. Enough said. So, in the long run, parents, I'd personally recommend you taking your child to another middle school in the area. Because Raymond Park isn't a good school. Thanks for reading. Have a good day.

Raymond Park Middle School is a great school. The teachers want and expect students to perform well. They are responsive to questions and concerns. The principle and administration is dedicated and firm. My oldest is now in high school and performing extremely well. For the most part she felt very preprareed for high school. My second child is doing as well if not better than my first. She is pushed to excel and rises to the occasion. If you are an involved and supportive parent with children that know you expect them to do their best this is the school to choose. Discipline on the bus could be better but overall I think this school is above most especially for a middle school.

Raymond Park has a great teaching staff, they are very well qualified, and try to do everything in the best interest of the student. They have high standards, but it prepares you for high school. I can take AP classes (advanced placement), because RP taught me so much above the standards. I, as a former student, can say I would recommend this school for any parent worried about sending their 5th grader off to middle school. The school is very warm and welcoming.

I go to Raymond Park now and I hate it. I would NEVER send my child here. It's ridiculous. The staff is cluless when it comes to talking and no talking. We get detentions for doing something we didn't do. Why, in the world, would someone want to go here.
