Fox Hill Elementary School Ratings & Reviews

Fox Hill Elementary School is an absolute gem and we are so thankful that our new home moved us out of IPS district and into the care and warm hearts of everyone at Fox Hill. We know how lucky we are to have our child in a school where they genuinely care about the well being of every single student in their school. From the crossing guard (Travis) who always has a smile and knows every walker by name; to the Principal (Ms. Beard) who stands at the front door to greet the students each morning; or the music teacher (Mrs. Becker) who's love for artistry and teaching children how to sing and dance is obvious to anyone who meets her. Most of all our child's Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Miller, is a seasoned pro at shaping the lives of her precious students. Mrs. Miller could teach a master class on how too effectively educate students while simultaneously teaching life lessons and confidence, being a role model and dear friend to each child and strategically working and communicating with parents on how we can continue the lessons at home. We hit the jackpot with this school and we proud to be Foxhill Foxes.

Our Son in now in Fifth grade at Fox Hill. Starting out in Kindergarten, he has made many friends of all races. He has gotten many behavior awards, straight A's and perfect attendance awards as well. The school is fantastic. Most parents that complain don't do enough work at home with their children. It takes a great parent to provide a great student for the school to work with. B. I.

My daughter has a wonderful teacher in her 3rd glade class but so far the administration has been absolutely terrible. I enrolled her 14 days before the beginning of the school year, should be plenty of time to get her IEP for her special education needs. Called multiple times to check and they claimed to have not received her IEP from her old school. It was faxed to them 4 times in 2 weeks and it was still not submitted until the day before school started. Her teacher had no idea she was on the autism spectrum or how to meet her needs. Now on top of this I get a call stating she has nits in her hair. These nits are all more than 3 inches from her head and empty, she shows no sign of an active infestation. They are there from 6 months ago when she caught it from her friend, we called the doctor and he called in prescription medication. This medication states no need for removing nits as it kills them and to just re-treat the hair in 3 days. The school has a no nits policy no matter what and has had her removed from school for the third day now because I can't get all of them out of her extremely thick hair. They are basically forcing me to cut her hair in order to keep her in school and she doesn't even have headlice. She is extremely upset and so am I.

My children have been at Fox Hill for two academic years. Obviously problems have arisen at times, however any issues were taken care immediately. Once my daughter was picked on, on the bus, the principal personally took care of the situation. Teachers always communicate with me frequently. I always know what is going on in class, and they always answer my questions. We love Fox Hill. I think that parents who are very involved in their children's education will love this school.

The administrative staff never gave me that welcoming feel when you go in to ask for help. They will treat you as if you're just one in 700 parents that they have to deal with. My child was picked on and nothing was done. There were no resolution for ruthless situations that happened at the school, if so, solutions would not be addressed with the parents. They didn't help me deal with the problems I had with them. You as a parent is not important to them. The principle needs a lot more experience in communicating with parents and he showed a tremendous amount of favoritism with his Fox Hill students.
