Fishers High School Ratings & Reviews

Fishers High School is an amazing school! I graduated from there in 2013, and felt very prepared for a Big 10 University and the challenges that came with it. I will never forget when I was a freshman, our Principal said that we needed to get involved in order to keep up the great personality of the school! I definitely did, and I know a lot of other students in my class did as well! There is no doubt in my mind that by keeping this type of positive attitude it continues to resonate with the students. In terms of class work, it was very challenging but again worth it, and in terms of leadership opportunities FHS allowed me to get involved and learn new skills which I still use today in the work force. I'm so blessed to have gone to FHS and I can't emphasize enough that if you can get your child to go here, you won't be disappointed!

I've grown up in the HSE schools and love Fishers High School. The opportunities I've gotten to experience are second to none.

So, I just completed my freshmen and sophomore years at Fishers (will not be returning because of a move, nothing against the school) and the only word I can use to describe it is DIVERSE. There are students from all socio-economic backgrounds, and no matter who you are I feel you will be able to find a friend or a group of friends to identify with. Academically, this school really does offer so many opportunities, and values/rewards its top students fairly. There are definitely bad students who do drugs and walk around high, but typically everyone leaves each other to their own and you really have the chance to pave your own future. The teachers will help you when you need it, and are very innovative in their teaching methods. Some may be a bit too "innovative" and come off as disrespectful, but in the end you will definitely learn from most teachers in one way or another. There are so many clubs for anyone, and it is easy to create one if you'd like. I only did cross country and track, but as far as I know most sports are very open and accessible to all athletes (I.e. Not very elitist) The administration is really fantastic and cooperative, and has been patient with me in many respects. I just don't know what to say. I will miss this school so much, and they just added the new college and career center and a new gym, and I know the school will continue to grow and offer all opportunities that a student could want. By the way, in terms of tests and AP exams, this school does a FANTASTIC job of leading students to be successful in these respects. I feel this school has motivated me to be a better student, and I will carry the lessons I learned here onto my next school.

I am currently finishing my sophomore year of college. I am a Fishers High School graduate, and I just want others to know how great the school is. Throughout the past two years of college I have found myself to be more prepared than most of my friends. After many conversations with my friends from other high schools, I have realized how seriously FHS takes AP courses because my friends, after taking their AP courses, still weren't prepared for those subjects at a college level. I was an athlete all four years, and I was happy to see so many opportunities for the wide range of abilities that students have. I also noticed that most teachers were pretty reasonable when it came to any type of dispute such as grading, expectations, or anything else. There are even a few teachers that I am still in contact with today! I personally never witnessed any bullying, at least that I am aware of, but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen, as it would at most any school. The school is rather large, my class was 600+ students, but when we were walking across the stage at graduation, there were very few names that I did not know. Overall, it's a great school with many opportunities for students.
