I am a parent of three former Hebron students. We have relocated so my kids no longer attend this school. There are some things I liked about Hebron but I was glad we left when we did. I was not impressed with the principal. He seemed proud of the fact that the school was overcrowded. He also talked way too much at meetings. Because Hebron was not a failing school studemts from outside the district could request a transfer to Hebron. The prinicpal did not put a cap on how many students he let in. There's no reason there should be 30 kids in a class, especially for kindergartners. The teachers were obviously stressed by this and there was increase in discipline problems from the 1st year we were there until we left 4 years later. I also didn't like how the principal kept messing around with the gifted students. One year they were all together by grade in a class and the next year he split the class in half and put them with low performing students to see if that helped the lower performing students. My son learned more in 2nd grade then in 3rd because of this. Plus, his 3rd grade teacher spent more time teaching them songs and fun stuff then academics. I'm glad we moved when we did.

My grandson has had a teacher who is not using validated evidence based academic and behavioral teaching strategies with the children. My grandson is struggling in math, and she has not attempted to differentiate instruction or provide intervention for him nor has she tried to develop a positive relationship with him or use positive behavior techniques. There are other teachers who seem to be good teachers, but the principal has not responded to her treatment of the children in her classroom. One inadequate teacher can affect the whole school

Very little student teacher interaction. My son has been attending this school for 3 years and each teacher has been very lax in the parent/teacher communication as well.
