Naperville North High School Ratings & Reviews

If you're from Chicago and your child has a hard time transitioning because he has ADHD and ODD then chances are they will accept him or her only to kick them out because they will mess up their score. They will see your child as the problem and not others pricking them. Their manifestation meeting are really expulsion meetings

My score is based on my experience of sending 3 boys through District 203 schools who a) weren't rich, b) weren't athletes c) didn't have parents who had time to be "Tiger parents" (look it up) and d) weren't AP class students. My experiences were rarely positive. Communication with the teachers was poor and inconsistent. Only a small percentage bother to update their class websites in a timely fashion. This made it even more difficult for me to do my job as a parent. But worse than all of that are the drugs. Drugs are rampant at Naperville North, and they are even pretty bad in the middle schools. Two of my sons have spent time in rehab. No matter what I did to monitor or teach them at home, access to drugs in school was too easy and alluring. Naperville North would rather pretend that the problem doesn't exist than to try and address it head-on. They would rather spend money on sports than on any student assistance programs for kids who've gotten hooked on drugs in their own hallways. On the surface this school is full of rich, spoiled kids with parents who think they are just as entitled. Below the surface is a much different story however.

Worst school ever. Will not be pleased with staff. Teachers do not take time with you. Too many students in the classroom.

As a proud graduate of the class of 2013, I can honestly say that NNHS was quite a positive experience. The teachers and faculty genuinely care about students' needs - when needed, they will take you aside to talk to you about how you are doing in that class. They WANT you to succeed. The ones I had were all, without exception, loving and caring people who truly enjoy what they do. I have even gone back to see some of them again. Although I didn't have a strong circle of friends, the overall positive experience I had at North was more than enough to compensate for that. For once, I fel like I shined. If you have an interest in helping people, I highly recommend becoming a student peer to the multi-needs students. It is extremely rewarding, and one of the best decisions I made. Just seeing the students' smiling faces made my days at North that much brighter. :) I will always have fond memories of this school - whether it be the fun theme days for Homecoming and Spring Weeks, or just the overall energetic, vibrant, positive mood this school creates. Especially the devoted teachers and faculty. :) North does a GREAT job of preparing you for college.

Despite what current students may say, the regular courses are far more difficult than ones at other high schools. The staff are very caring and willing to help if you communicate with them. Overall it's a very good school.
