This school made my child hate school. Was told because I am a step parent that "I don't matter" and that I can have no say in my child's experience in the school

Great Teachers and Staff. Small class size for a great deal of attention to the kids. Lots of extracurricular activities for the kids . Could not be more satisfied with the teaching methods here and the lengths the teachers go to give the best education possible.

I have a second grader at St. Symphorosa and myself and my 3 brothers and sisters all graduated from here as well. If you are looking for a great family friendly, loving learning environment then St. Symphorosa is your school. Almost every teacher has been there 20+ years and they are all dedicated to making sure your children are getting the best education possible. I am appalled by the negative comments on this site about St. Sym's...the only thing I can think is that they are from bitter parents whose children are no longer in the school. As with every school, job, store etc. you will see a few bad reviews but I'm telling you I am in LOVE with St. Sym's. Of course anyone can take the cheaper, easy route and choose CPS, but if you want a quality learning environment in a non over crowded school with teachers who will love your children as their own then this is the place. I feel that any issue I may have that I can always go to the principal and she will listen with open ears, and is always looking out for the best interest of the children. If you are in the Midway area and are looking for an A+ catholic school, I definitely suggest St. Symphorosa!!!

My two children attend St. Symphorosa School. They are both excelling in all subjects due to the hard working teachers who put their all into helping the students succeed. Whenever either of my children doesn't understand something, the teachers help them during the day, or if extra explanations are needed, after school. As another parent stated, I don't see too many teachers willing to stay after school, using their own time to help students anymore.. Because of their dedication, I have seen my children's Terra Nova scores rise each time theyve taken the test, both scoring well over the National Norm. At times, all schools have a problem with one child bothering another (I wouldn't consider everything that happens bullying; it's just some children still need to work on behaving properly). These situations are taken care of immediately. While many schools cannot say this anymore, our school has a solid educational program, which includes an Art, Music, Computer, Library, and P.E. teachers. trips to enhance There are after school programs offered almost every day of the week. We also have a Parent Association that organizes activities/treats for the students.

This school is outstanding! I have one child who graduated and one who still attends Saint Symphorosa School. Both of my children have succeeded, that is mainly because of the dedication of the teachers and the principal. When my oldest needed help with her studies, the teachers stayed after school to help her. I have never been at any school where the teachers are so dedicated and caring. When my mom was sick and dying it was the principal who comforted me and let me talk and opened her door to me. This school is not only about academics but it is family, it is about caring, compassion and dedication. This is what I want for my children. Whoever wrote those negative comments are parents who left because they didn't get their way. We love our teachers and principal. If I had to do it all over again, I would still choose Saint Symphorosa school!
