Well I Live Right Next To This School And I Hear Alot Of Fights When They Come Out Of School. I Kinda Hate Living In The Block Of This School Because I Hear To Much Screaming And The Police Has To Be By My Block Every Time The High Schoolers Come Out So They Can Avoid Fights Between The Students.

The administration at Gage Park can be summed up in one word, iffy. Sometimes they care, sometimes they don't. I have seen them do some great things for students, and I have seen them fail them miserably. The students at Gage Park have great hearts. Some of them are a lil deranged, but it is up to the Administration to weed out those bad seeds, of which they do not. The teachers are just as iffy. Some teachers are phenomenal! Some teachers are there to collect a check. I hope Rahm Emanuel will come in and really clean up schools like Gage Park, because it has potential to be great.

I recently became a teacher at Gage Park High School. I was highly surprised by the environment. Yes, we sometimes have fights. However, I see less fighting and gang activity than I did at my other school. My other school was an elementary school believe it or not. I love the students here!!!! I would say about 90% of our kids are great. Many of them face obstacles to their education. I would really love to see more parental participation. The parents we have are great, but we need more involvement to make this a truly great school.

The worst school in the Chicago public school district. The administratrion in 2008 is awful. The principal eliminated almost all after school programs which kept kids off the streets. She makes it very difficult to keep the few sports program left. There is absolutly no help from the teachers and tutoring is non-existant. They say they have programs to help the kids, but they do not. Extremely unsafe, fights break out daily. gang activity is obviouse and felt by all students. If you have a choice to live in a different school district, move elsehwere.
