Genuinely appalled with the Mickey Mouse operation the principal is running at the school. This is the second time I pick my daughter up from school for early dismissal. Both times I wasn’t asked for identification. I was told that “we are familiar with the parents” so I asked the principal if she knows me and she said no. Exactly. You don’t know me and so you don’t me from my child’s father to just being a neighbor. When I asked her if she understood the legality of just letting the student leave without verifying any identification or file she said she did because she’s the principal. I expect more from her. If she did understand legalities as she claimed she understands that if any student was allowed to go home with someone that wasn’t their parent with full rights or a appointed guardian they could be sued. Again, I’m sure she understood this, but most of simply forgotten. Furthermore, the doors were locked, I was buzzed in without any questions. There was no security at the front desk, no pen to sign in and so I simply walked to the window with no trouble on my end and clearly no concern on the schools part. She said “we’re here to nurture” and yet they failed to include safety. This is the second time this has happen. I fully intend to write to the school district, superintendent and so on. I’m disgusted with her response and also the schools security measure. I’m sure there are cameras in the school to back up my claims.

My child has attended Dore since kindergarten and has experienced greatness from all of her teachers. Mrs. Diaz, Mrs. Mulvihill and Mrs. Meyers are all very good teachers.

The teachers are great and the principal is hands on. The principal also interacts with the students. My daughter learns a lot in this school.

Dore school is without a dought in my mind the best school in Chicago. I am a current 8th grader and I've gone to dore since kindergarten. The teachers help me and get me to use the best of my abilities. I have never had a problem with any teachers or staff. My grades went down in 5th grade when I use to have straight A's. I truly love dore school. The teachers helped me out a lot so now I have all A's and one B.
