Not great, a total disappointment the last years. Sr. Mary Kath did not teach my poor daughter anything about learning the fundimental needs of religious education. The occasional non witty and heartless jokes to her. Get a break nun, it’s not the 1930s where nuns can beat their children with a ruler on the wrist. You thought students took your BS and moved on, nope! You were all that was in their mouths. All of your students. My daughter also described her excessive use of the word “apparatus”. A real problem.. This school shocked and scared me and it is a relief of sorts that it closed. A real burden lifted off my shoulders, the good reviews must have been elementary school parents. Try Junior High, a whole new experience.

The sixth grade teacher was not the best. She would yell at students simply because she doesn't like them. She hugely favors the girls and does not like the boys. She claims to "teach religion", however, she just rants about politics and other topics. The seventh grade teacher is nice some days, she yells for no reason other days. She gets angry when students get problems wrong in Math. Instead of explaining she reads from the book and changes her policy regarding homework and asking questions on the spot to make it hard on students. The only good teacher here was the computer teacher. He was kind nice and patient and an overall good person.

I’ve had two kids at Our Lady of the Ridge. They enjoyed it. I did not. I constantly would get notes from the nun teacher in sixth grade saying how my son would play his phone is class. Class gets boring! Play on! The sixth grade teacher never kept her comments to herself and always rideculed students who did not abide by her teaching standards (which were not great). The seventh grade teacher was a doll! A great teacher with a good humor. Overall the school was not the best choice for my two children when they attended. I regret it everyday.

OLOR is a great school! Staff and teachers are very caring and helpful... I have two kids that attend and they love it. There is a lot of homework but that is normal with high academic standards... I am very happy to be able to send my boys to a catholic school and attending mass every Sunday is just a part of our stewardship life... for the families that are upset about the charges when you miss a Sunday mass you do not understand what a stewardship parish is and you shouldn't have sign up...everything is explained each and every school year... This school offers everyone opportunity to send their kids to school that supports our catholic values at affordable price. I am very thankful for people that keep it going... Thank you Sister Stephanie and Father Wayne!

My 2nd child just started at OLOR. We transferred 3 years ago from another school. I can't tell you how much I appreciated how each teacher took the time to help my child catch up because they had fallen behind from their previous school. They stayed after school and gave individual help as well as the weekly tutoring offered to all. I have seen the change of confidence in my child and a sense of belonging here. I love how they teach respect and responsibility. . I credit the Principal Sister Stephanie who seems like she is always teaching the kids some small life lesson even if a comment when passing them in the hall. I see my child take such pride and responsibility in their work . I think it is a great education, I always see in bulletins that so many of the graduated students are on the A Honor Roll at Brother Rice, Mother McAuley, , Marist and I know Sister has said repeatedly that her job is to prepare our children for highschool. I think the sad negative comments are from the same couple of people that keep posting and saying they are leaving every year and they never leave. I would always do what I believe is best for my children and that is going to OLOR.
