In general, everybody will have a different experience and with this, derives a difference of opinions. In my opinion, this school is improving on its academics and provides many AP courses as well as honors and regulars. Most importantly, it has greatly improved on the grievances addressed in this forum, such as the attitude of students and teachers. The new principal has established that with him as principal, Bloom will be the greatest it will be. I'm sorry to all that have had a bad experience at this school, but mine has been great. "Don't knock it til you try it" is my advice to any parent or student that is skeptical of attending this great school.

I went to Bloom from 1968 to 1971.It was a very enlighting time. Had some very good teachers and wonderful students. What i was able to accomplish at Bloom made it that much easier for me to become the Vice President of a major tire company that I worked for for over 35 years.

First of all, I love almost all my teachers. They're really great at teaching, but the material they're teaching is not challenging. The school I used to go attend, even in the regular classes, was much more rigorous than the honors classes at Bloom. I also do not feel there are as many choices and opportunities for students. There are few clubs and after school activities, and freshman are not allowed to take electives. A lot of kids get into violence and substance abuse because they're bored and have nothing to do. Buses at this school are also a big problem. Everyday there are multiple kids standing because there is no place to sit. I have made complaints about this, but nothing has been done. I would like to see Bloom have more options for students to excel.

I will begin with the positive. The overall appearance of the school is good. Some staff are helpful and it's a convenient location. However, the academics, college preparedness and overall "leadership" is very sub-standard. A serious positive change needs to take place. I recommend that you do your research before sending your student to this or any school, and make an educated decision. It will benefit you and your child in the long run. It's too much at stake to take a gamble with your child's academic future.

This school lacks the ability to give students enough freedom. Therefor students rebel, and that causes a lot of students to act out. The students though, also need to learn to behave and act as if they are in High school, the bullying at this school, is too much, due to the ignorance of the students.
