Jefferson Middle School Ratings & Reviews

I had an 8th grader who attended school here and things had gotten so bad, due to the teachers, Mr. Guzman or Angie Franklin not doing their jobs properly. The only teachers that paid attention and made sure my child received an amazing learning experience were Mr. DeVries(math teacher) and Mrs. Adrian(S.S. teacher). I complained about issues my child were enduring from other students and nothing was done about it. I complained about the issues several times and was very cordial with the teachers, by having a meeting with them even though my child wasn't creating the problem and nothing was done properly. I went as far as going to the Mellon Building complaining about the issue and was told that the issue should have been handled properly and that they shouldn't have never allowed me to leave unsatisfied about the situation. My child is a honor student and is a very self-focused person when it comes to his education. I didn't understand for the life of me on why they didn't address the issue properly. I ended up transferring my child to Franklin, so far things have been going well there. Jefferson also tried to charge us $70 for the 8th grade trip which is free at Franklin.

The Jefferson atmosphere is unique. Administration, staff, and support staff are one big collaborative unit with common goals and common purpose. The heart of the school is a nurturing one, filled with positivity, encouragement, and hope. I am truly grateful to be a part of such a powerful learning community that always looks to put the students first.

As a 6th grade parent, this is a very exciting and nerve-wracking year, but the staff at Jefferson are making the transition as easy as possible. The open houses have been very beneficial, the staff are very involved with the students in and out of class, and you feel welcome in the building. You can tell they are all proud of the student body and want to see them succeed. Go Jefferson!

I went to Jefferson and I now have two children there! I love the prinicipal and teacher involvement. I love being able to get my kids' grades online or emailed! They have clubs every day afterschool from: chess, reading, computers, drama, band, choir and MUCH more! They have behavioral and academic incentives to keep kids motivated. My kids love going to school and do not want to miss a day!
