Carbondale Community High School Ratings & Reviews
We came in two years ago and have been very pleased with the level of education our daughter is receiving. We have an amazing Administration staff. Our Principal is great and he is really on top of things. Very well respected by parents and kids. Our Superintendent is great too. There are many opportunities at CCHS as far as clubs are concerned. Many ways to get involved. Also many opportunities for help with school work when needed. All around a great school.
Transferred into the area from a much bigger city with high ranked schools. This school was a very pleasant surprise. Much smaller, but has a reasonable, attentive administration. Well balanced teachers who seem well accustomed to working with such a diverse student body from multiple rural counties and university families. Usual teen issues with any school, but so far no violence.
This school is absolutely amazing! My son learned so much & loved CCHS so much.
There is less quality control and oversight of instruction in public schools than in the fabrication of my underwear. The latter, at least, involves a Fruit-of-the-Loom inspector. But in the US (and Carbondale Community High School is no exception) a comparable level of quality control does not exist. Teachers who have acquired a reputation throughout the community for less-than-competent teaching are allowed to continue year after year. Did administrators ever consider routinely and closely examining day-to-day instructional practices? Apparently not; their presence in the classroom is virtually non-existent. A larger more worrisome question is whether these administrators actually have the skill to detect inept instruction or the capacity to correct it when they do.
The teachers cannot teach and yell at the students when they ask questions. there are only few good teachers and most of them are leaving. the discipline is rarely fair to students.
