Fantastic music program. The band staff are fantastic and really motivate the kids. We like the diversity in the school and my daughter enjoys being here. I just wish there were more opportunities for kids who are above general track but not quite the top 1%.

We moved our daughter here from another school in 6th grade to take advantage of the school's accelerated program (Project Arrow). We met with a counselor before enrolling her who assured us that our daughter would likely qualify. Upon enrollment, our daughter was assigned to a different counselor who refused to place her in this program. We continued to fight for our daughter's placement on several occasions but we were consistently turned away with one excuse after another. Early in eighth grade the principal (reluctantly) said she could move to the Project Arrow program but advised against it based on social reasons. She got all A's and one B+ during her entire time at this school and her teachers described her very favorably. When she took the Explore test in 8th grade and was ranked against her peers at the school and the nation, she scored at the top 15% versus other students at the school and in the top 2% nationwide, yet she was denied into a program that accepted 30% of the student body. As for the teacher quality, only one teacher (her science and social studies teacher in 7th and 8th grade) deserves 5+ stars and the rest of them were pretty mediocre.
