Sports still rule and academics are still lacking in a big way. Grade inflation got my sons into a good college with scholarships, where they struggled majorly. SHS does not prepare students for college period. Hoping things will change for the better with a new principal for next year. The only good thing I can say is that even though sports are #1, the drama program is strong thanks to Mrs. Gold and her talent and dedication. But, just take a look at the size of the auditorium to see how much SHS cares about the arts in general. Where is the balance?

This school and in fact the whole district is a joke. This is nothing short of a good old boys club no matter the venue. Sports are king and a joke, it's all about who you are and what can your family do for the coach. Academics are worse. Nearly every teacher has their hand in coaching in some form or another so if you don't play sports they aren't going to help you with anything. The air of entitlement in this morally stunted town is a disgrace to anyone with a half a brain. Moving here is like going back in time to the 50's where it's not about education and excelling on your own it's about fitting in and being politically correct so you don't upset the overpaid football coaching staff and the wrestling coach. The town, the people, the school district are all jokes. What a horrible choice for my family moving here was. I cannot wait to sell our house and move out of this backwards place and enjoy civilization again.

Where shall I begin to rate this school? I am currently attending this "high school" and will be thankful that I am leaving. This school has a FEW teachers who really care for their students; the counselors are great; The current vice principal is also quite amazing. This school is based upon sports. If you are not in sports, majority of the teachers will not care about you or your education. Hardly any academic classes are offered here. So, if you would like your children to know nothing, have them attend this school. If you would like them to have an actual education, PLEASE choose a different school. I have been robbed of mine. If you want gossip? Head to the office. So very UNPROFESSIONAL to talk about students. These teachers would rather hand you a book and a paper to work on for 5 minutes and then do nothing but sit on their iphones, ipads, or computers for the rest of class(I have photos and recordings of classes doing nothing while the teacher plays on said objects). This school needs to get it together because it is not fair that anyone should lose education and learning abilities because the teachers are too lazy to teach. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL.

1200 characters could not describe my education at this school. I am currently attending SHS, and I have been ROBBED of my education. The only people on the staff who care are the Counselors, the current Vice Principal, and a few teachers. This school is based upon sports and nothing more. They could care less if you are not into sport programs. Even pushing that aside; The teachers- HA! Most of those "teachers" couldn't help you even if they did care. They would rather play on their iphones, ipads, or computers. I have attended a class outside of SHS and I have learned more there in ONE semester than I have at this school. My recommendation? If you are planning to have your children go no where in life, send them here. Because that is exactly what they will get. Nothing. Send them to a different school nearby, they will at least accomplish something more than they will ever get here. I have learned nothing in this school. I have only received support from the couple teachers and counselors who are very well educated. The rest care more about the days off that they get (which are frequently) than they could care for students. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL.
