My children attended this school for 2 years, my experience the first year was average. The second year was horrible after they changed principals. The current principal Mrs. Peebles, seems far too concerned with placing restrictions on what parents and students are allowed to do. Under the new principal, no child is allowed to run on the blacktop or any equipment ....grass only!!. ( They couldn't even build snowman in winter!!) Children are treated like felons if they bring anything that suspiciously looks like it might have come in contact with peanuts or tree nuts. Dress code that no teachers or staff can seem to agree on, NO SECURITY WHATSOEVER!! I was allowed into any area of this school anytime i wanted without being checked even once. Apparently peanuts are far scarier than a crazy person walking in with a weapon. No american holidays are celebrated at this school, however they managed to put on a Cinco de mayo night for all parents and students to attend free. Nothing was done on OUR nations birthday!!!! Only specific school approved water bottles may be taken in, sunscreen, chapstick and jewelry are considered contraband. Video surveillance equipment and unplugged wires dangle uselessly from the outside building walls. Garbage spans from one end of the playground to the other. My children were bullied by other students and certain teachers, who had no problem sweeping everything under the rug while preaching tolerance and acceptance. I could go on forever, but honestly just think twice before sending your kids to this school.

This school is a great school if you want your kids to be bullied by the other students, principle, counselors, and teachers. My child will not be going to school anymore by themselves its too dangerous. This school needs to be check before anyother child goes. Parents think twice before you settle on this school.

This is our second year. Caldwell District's Advanced Learning Program (ALP) makes this school worth it. Our girls are learning a ton at their own advanced rate, and ride their bikes to school, get dropped off by the bus for gymnastics at the Y, and have tons of favorite teachers. The "profiency" test scores have money flowing into this school like I've never seen to bring the scores up, but to me it's just extra money because all English-first students are scoring advanced (read the district report card online). Most parent complaints that I've heard are from people that liked the first principal and never got over him leaving. Now, Caldwell middle school is another story and will probably provoke a move.
